Tom McShea was the wrong person for this review. His concept of fun is too linear and I think he fancies himself some sort cerebral gamer. I don't like to attack reviewers at gamespot but I personally think Tom McShea is out of touch or getting too old for this.
I thought deadpool was very much like the marvel comics, they captured the character very well and for a $30 game on steam i thought it wasn't bad for what you were paying to play. It's true they could have tightened up the combat but then again comparing it to a triple A game like Rocksteady's batman arkham city which had more developers and resources to make a better game seems unfair. It was in my opinion a great use of the license and generally well done game. I give it a 7.5/10
Seems to me like Tom McShea... has a very different view on this game compared to the other two... Maybe gamespot should employ a 2 person review system as reviews are opinions at the end of the day that way you might get more balanced reviews. Just a thought.
@Foppe @kerc_chaos @chaosph3nx Truth be told before Microsoft Bungie weren't a household name and were pretty much unknowns... Though I see your point. Probably just a sort of slip for Chris Waters.
@nicolasetespqr Not a badass of any sort, also stating an opinion, suggestion if you will. Not even a massive fan of the Battlefield series or the CoD series.
Though, I think your assessment of this game is a little harsh. Most game developers are not pushing higher fidelity graphics because they don't need to, further more you sacrifice some of that graphical power because they're made the environment more destructible hence why it does seem as much as gap between the last game and this one. Moreover it seems like they put more development into the story mode of the game.
I don't care for hype either and it's not a must buy for me. I understand what you're saying but even over hyped comments are opinions... so yeah.
