a couple of months ago, I was able to share mp3 files and view video files from my laptop to my ps3.

but i was playing around one day and messed it up by:

in the WMP 11 Library tab- media sharing- and where my ps3 is supposed to be in the "sharing settings" box, I deleted it.

and I've been trying to get it back but I'm stumped. I tried to follow several tutorials but for some odd reason I can't get my laptop to recognize my ps3 and my ps3 keeps saying there are no mediaservers available.

anyway, the ps3 and the laptop are on a wired connection via router (Airband broadband router ABR-200Plus+), I've even tried directly plugging my ps3 into my laptop and still a nogo.

any help would be nice.

I think in an EGM, the producer talked about how he would love to make a darkstalkers game like SF4. I would like to see a new darkstalkers game, but I doubt it, closest thing would be the new "Vs" game coming out as it has morrigan in it.

Well, I'm not a big fighting games fan, but i love Mortal kombat, liked street fighters a lot, also games like king of fighters have appealed me. But I just dont get soul calibur, people say that the game is amazing, that the graphics are cool that it has so many fighters. Well here is what i think about it:

1) There is nothing that sets this game apart from an ordinary fighting games: no (adoken) or (finish him) or whatever.

2) Game Presentation has to be the worse presentation I've ever seen, I thought konami were doing a great job with badly presenting PES every year.

3) The game is over complicated: lots of unneccessary moves, and guess what you can do them in 100 ways it's forward and A or B or G. or backward and K or A. Come on, it's hard to memorize all these moves with all of them almost look a like.

4) All the fighters fight the same, maybe it's kind of diffirent with someone like voldo or tira (i think) who has 2 stances but still it's mostly slash and dash.

5) Graphics aren't that good, people are saying that the game has good graphics but if you look at games like SVR or TNA which are kind of fighting/sports games with a lot more going on in the background you can surely tell they're a lot better.

6) Story mode is too short, and very ugly.

7) character design is uninspired, mostly look like anime, but a bad taste of anime.

Ok well i tried to look past all these things that annoy the hell out of me, and tried to give it another go this morning, and still hated it. Can someone please point me out how to play or like this game because i feel like i wasted my money on it.

gedo

sounds like your everyday scrub. I mean you're not big into fighters, so why pick it up? if you never touched soul calibur before, what made you want to pick up this game? let me guess... star wars? anyway, onto your points.

1: weapons fighting, 3d fighting, critical finishers, guard impact, just impacts, just frames, ring outs, air control, feints. yeah many fighting games have some of those but not all of them together.

2: game presentation is a matter of opinion, so if you feel that way, you feel that way. I'm more indifferent towards it. menu screens and the like look fine to me. just wish they kept the taunt during the "vs" screen.

3: what's a necessary move and what's an unnecessary move? as long as you know the basic structure, moves are relatively easy to do, and easier to remember. "A"= Horizontal, "B" = Vertical, "K" = Kick, and "G" = guard. and each move has a different property. some will leave you at a disadvantage, some will leave you at an advantage, some will just leave you safe.

4: all the fighters do not fight the same. that's all I'm really going to say there. learn spacing, learn timing, and actually sit down and learn your character. It's not as time consuming as say Virtua Fighter, and it's not easy as learning a hard hitting juggle in tekken, but learning one character and becoming efficient is more than just :oh, look at me, i'm hitting buttons and he's doing something!!!! WOW!!!"

5: like the game presentation, that's your opinion. and again. i disagree.

6: I agree.

7: I agree. Namco actually used to try to make these characters look good. now everyone looks sleep deprived, the outfits really look like they're struggling to think up ways to make them look appealing. and just one outfit and one cas outfit is kind of retarded. still, with more customizeable parts coming via DLC, I look forward to seeing some of their old outfits back.

overall, in terms of aesthetics you can have your opinion on and it's okay to speak your mind on. but when it comes to game mechanics, you really should know the game first before you condemn it. in other words, you should practice more, or get rid of it. what made you jump on board for this game is what gets me interested. if you really want to know how to play this game, search around, there are pleanty of websites on the interwebs that go through this and help you figure it out. same with any other fighting game.

one website in particular caliburforum.com, there you should get a general idea of what to do.

toodles.

there is a whole bunch of legalities involving tekken between sony and namco. somebody on tekken zaibatsu was talking about it. I don't know the details, but from what I'm gathering from all that legal stuff, if namco bandai really wants to make tekken 6 multiplat they will have to pull a sort of "project origin" if you will to get it done.

in other words, drop tekken entirely and make a new franchise that's pretty much tekken under a different banister.

at best, this is still a rumor, not confirmed. so, this isn't a fact.

what is a fact, is that tekken 6 is built around the ps3. heck, even the arcade board starts up at the playstation xmb before launching into the game. and the article the op posted seems to reference that other article from a shady magazine article a few months back. yeah... i don't believe it, yet. when we get more sources confirming this, then i'll believe it.

for right now, it's just a rumor. so... thanks for that.

No if the games balanced then there will be ways to counter itfhoeiuwhdousah

i think that will only apply to offline play. online will depend entirely on the connection. if people can scrub out b,b with 4 bars or less in soul calibur 4 and win against most competitors. i can image people doing simple mid low mix ups and winning in tekken 6 just by mashing cause it's already being done with tekken Dr.

online for fighting games is horrible.

umm... don't know if this screams playstation hardware but I can tell you that when the game initially boots up in the arcades, you see the playstation xmb before you go into the game.

It seems like no one read the article where they have currently put versus on hold so that their team can help finish XIII quicker. Only once thats done will they resume work on versus. Good chance though that some of the guys who work on XIII will also help finish versus quicker. At this point, no one can tell which team did what now.lextexrex

apparently you didn't read the follow up article that came two - three days later that said that nomura was misunderstood. both games are still in production, and that on their free time the people who work on VS also works on xiii. in other words, vs xiii is not on hold. if it was on hold, would they have shown updated work at their little event this past week? short answer is no.

sorry, i know this sounds pompous, but honestly! I'm not trying to come off that way.

darn, jae beat me to it!

[QUOTE="kelindas02"][QUOTE="Teh_Solid_Snack"]

It was given the name Versus because it's the "opposite" of XIII. XIII is colourful and happy, Versus is dark, gritty, and depressing (yay).

SollidSnake_

we have a winner. and as for it being exclusive, nomura stated his reason for the game being exclusive in an interview,

more or less that reason was the employees or rather the workers themselves felt that they can get the best looking game they can if they don't have to worry about another console in the back of their minds. They can focus their energy all on one console. and Nomura agreed. It has nothing to do with loyalty to a sony brand. they just feel they can make a better game overrall if they just focus on one console.

it makes sense. Unfortunately, it's the check writers who have the ultimate "who say" when it comes to what games come out on what system. i had the strangest feeling that the FFXiii deal was made the week or day before if not day of that e3 conference. Cause it even seemed to take the squeenix's people off guard. so if it goes multi, oh well. I'll be miffed again, but whatever, i'm still gonna buy it. I bought a ps3 for these games. makes no sense to go back and buy a new cheaper system just because a game went multiplat. that's just stupid.

i love you.. *snaps out of it* wtf dude get away! (nice post i mean! =P)

lol. thank you sir. i try
