Visuals are can be very difficult to judge. It is very clear that Sony has some serious talent under these teams which produce the exclusives. A piece of technology is only as good as the person behind it.

Better technology does not automatically equate to a better designed set of graphical assets, and i think its silly when people(often times pc gamers) try to separate art design from the graphics as if its a completely different beast.

Imo people are blinded by the resolution wars. Also, imo, Breath of The Wild has some of the best, most intelligently designed visuals this generation, and id be willing to bet they will hold up far better than games of today which many people claim as having the best graphics. And then then theyll wonder why that is and say, "oh its just art style." Wtf is artstyle, art *design*? This is so intertwined with game graphics that it makes me laugh when i hear it.

Meh, Not disagreeing for the sake of it here honestly, but I'm feeling the opposite and I feel the technical limitations that forced certain rendering limitations makes Breath of the Wild one of the most Washed-Out AAA+ games I have every played (an enjoyed.

The kind of cel-shading used was clearly to mask the fact that rendering this kinda game on the Switch was more difficult... sometimes looked colourul, but most of the time it was drab.

PS4 has the grunt to make God of War's visuals pop , but good use of techniques to hide its numerous - moment to moment environmental flaws as an impressive achievement.

The Fire Emblem team have dropped the ball pretty bad though adapting to a console... Three Houses is not a looker at all.

Renders anything he says about other platforms games redundant here though, and fully explains the absolute narrow minded outlook on System Wars.

Depends on the implementation.

My main problem with the majority of games using RPG elements that are not RPGS (e.g action games, FPS etc) is that due to the base way the games work you already start off strong.

Some of these games, by the time you reach the final unlocks, these final unlocks remove absolutely ANY weakness your character had and stream roles the content... and typically in these game,s you can get most of the unlocks, theres no clever character building.

Or just plain boring (Witcher 3 the most "immaculate game ever praise Geraldo" has f*cking terrible talent trees and RPG elements outside of its dialogue trees.
