@takapa76 interestingly, Valve would probably be one of the few companies able to tackle the issue in the way you're describing if they were motivated to do so. Sadly, it's unlikely. I really like the way you're thinking though!
@CygnusRising001 the Atari tape drive was unique, as it was controlled through that custom RS232 port on the side that was able to control the tape deck to a certain extent. There was some very imaginative uses of it. Did you ever try the Atari language courses? Once the software had loaded, it was able to control the audio coming from the tape so you had audio examples to go along with the on-screen exercises. Pretty advanced stuff for the time, and years ahead of the ability to sample long passages of spoken word audio.
@takapa76 who do you like to see pick up the brand and manage it? It's unlikely that it'll survive as an independent at this point, and needs a steward of sorts for the properties that it owns.
@Micropixel which version did you have? Is it a 6-switch or 4-switch unit? I'd forgotten how many times they iterated on the VCS/2600 until I researched this piece
