Why the hell wasn't this all over the main page? I love these deep digs into game studios, how games come together (or don't) and what it means to them. I loved it when Alexa did that story on the unfinished Western Final Fantasy, its great to see this kind of fresh and unique content in a sea of news you can find really anywhere.
Platinum Studios is really one of the most special developers in the industry. My memories of Metal Gear Rising and Bayonetta (lacking a Wii U, unfortunately, I couldn't play Bayonetta 2!) serve well to show that they are highly capable in making action games. I do need to try out Vanquish as well. While I am not eagerly excited about Scalebound, surprises are welcome!
Seriously broken games, Kickstarter failures and controversy concerning depiction of women in games, *sigh*, the industry hasn't moved a lot forward seeing that similar events took place in 2014. Not much change is expected in 2016. I think it was intrusive for the media to keep a close eye on Konami and Kojima's relationship, a relationship between an employer and employee. It would have been uncalled for if there weren't revelations about Konami treating Kojima & Co. like slaves. It was an unfortunate affair but one that has come to pass especially as Konami shift focus to mobile and Kojima has his own studio.
P.S Making episodes when its Christmas time? Looks like the bells aren't ringing yet in Australia.
I too was expecting Rise of the Tomb Raider to be a great experience but it certainly got more recognition than one would have predicted. Hope it definitely makes it to the PS4 in the future.
@aiden_kasel: I feel that for anyone who appreciates gameplay mechanics over narrative, Bloodborne is probably a more satisfactory experience than The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 while having a great central story and moving side-quests along with a big fantasy setting lacks a satisfying and precise combat system. Bloodborne is a mechanically solid game as expected and also has a beautiful Victorian setting with unique storytelling. Bloodborne also has a sense of progression The Witcher 3 doesn't have. Of course, its just my opinion and why I think people may prefer Bloodborne over The Witcher 3.
@ahpuck: Oh please, people that are often exact opposites of each other often make the most devoted friends. It may sound crazy but trust me, it has happened to me even.
@hystavito: As it happens, it appeared on some other staff member's Top 10 as well. Its not the first Telltale game to make it to people's favorites. Interactive experiences have become quite the rage since The Walking Dead!
@Sevenizz: I felt that the game was for a very specific type of audience. Its definitely very different from most other games, and can easily be disliked.
Looks like someone's Top Five avoided mainstream like the plague. Well, almost. That's good actually, having The Witcher 3, Rocket League or MGS V in everybody's Top Five would make GS look like a hive mind without individuality.
None of The Point videos here? I was under the impression that they were immensely popular (and rightly so), especially the one where Danny compares Destiny to a casino. Also, Number 8 is "Gaming Trends That Need To Die In 2016" but the video is "Gaming Trends That Need To Die In 2015". I'm not sure if that's correct. Anyway, my favorite video here is the GameSpot Staff vs. Rocket League devs.
