it looks like a nice piece of hardware, but there's no killer app for me yet.

in short, yes. i believe that the obsession with cinema generally takes away from the interactive nature of play.

what can you do about it? educate gamers, write reviews, write intelligent feedback on the internet and most of all put your money where your mouth is and buy and play legitimate games. you kind of have to get political with your money, but it's the only way.

but if i was being more balanced, there are some good stories out there with good linear gameplay.

conserve the ammo; stockpile; only shoot when necessary. that kind of thing.

my favourite is vagrant story. it's very much a dungeon crawl, similar to diabolo mixed with final fantasy tactics. it's pretty cheap on PSN.

well, a lot of games companies are doing these HD 'remakes' - sony in particular (god of war, MGS, ico etc.). also microsoft showed the halo remake at E3. so in short, everyone is trying to preserve their own history. although nintendo relies much more on the nostalgia factor.

it's all business, really.

imagine in red dead redemption ride you horse for 24 hours in a row and be granted with a new unicorn, faster and more tame than any other horsetheSteeeeels
that's a cool idea. i totally think that these sorts of things should be hidden in games, but hidden in a way that players can work them out by using the logic of the game rather than by sheer brute force. but they should be super secret. unfortunately in this era of the internet, secrets are revealed very easily. but looking through this thread i guess quite a few modern games still have some interesting hidden stuff. shadow of the colossus especially.

[QUOTE="Gamefan1986"]

This reminds me about all the famous glitches and hidden things in Zelda OoT back in the day like aquiring the Triforce, being able to walk around inside the light temple, and dozens of other things that were left over from previous versions of the game.

Enid_Green

This was what I was thinking. There were so many unfounded rumors about being able to acquire the other pieces of the Triforce.

It was funny because while playing I managed to glitch Epona into walking up in the sky, but when I tried telling everyone in the chatrooms and forums, no one would believe me (the days before cheap digital cameras and camera phones hehe).

in shadow of the colossus sometimes you can find your horse, agro, dead. just dead and floating in the sky. and you can still ride her.
