You realize your example of Joan of Arc is that of a general and a commander (and later a merciful saint), not a front line fighter. Joan of Arc actually claimed to have never killed anyone, which means she wasn't fighting.

Most "strong" physcial women are fictional and even then they don't meet the physical strength of their male counterparts.

Also if women want to fight and be so aggresive, why is it that no femminist has ever, not even once, pushed for women to be part of the draft in the US? All men need to join.

Oh it's because women want to pick and choose what is "equal". If you want to be equal, fine. It's not better, it's just a whole lot of different things that suck than what you have now.

More accurate: There will be sensible portrayals of women in gaming when women who buy video games start caring about portrayals of women in video games.

@iskaroth

I think she has a valid point, especially given the context of the Alien series. Which is completely a women driven action narrative.

Now the one piece she does step over is the demographically dominant gamer is male and she jumped right over the "it's the only people we can't offend" comment by the writer. It makes a lot more sense that women/minorities aren't used heavily because they will be offended. Heck even in aliens they tease Vasquez about being a "man" or "illegal aliens signed up" (which I know was an inside joke, but it worked for that reason), which woudl get skewered to death if that same action/dialogue was common in a game.

While I agree that our culture emphasis on different and double standards for men and women. To put the blame solely on men is just naive.

The truth is, both sides are too blame. Arguments saying that men forced this on women make women appear weaker than acknowledging the fact that the sexes are different with different positive attributes and negative ones. Saying women have allowed men to dominate society is a blatant falsehood and implies women have had no impact on society.

Despite a lot of culture is and was driven by women entirely. Case in point shaved legs (often designated a perfect example of "male" driven culture), men didn't say, "Hey honey shave your legs!". No, a naturally hairless women walked by and girls noticed that she got more attention. In turn they responded by shaving there legs. You see this same effect in body building competitions where to "look better" than the competition they shave.

You can argue that why does the woman have to look better than her peers, but that applies on both sides of the aisle and is a natural instinct not a forced one. Everyone wants to be the "top choice for mating".

Honestly back to Cali? Here's a tip there's a giant state that loves guns, associates itself more with the state than with the country, and aside from Cali has all the resources needed to be its own small country.

It's called Texas. Do IT!

This would also let you have Brotherhood of Steel, NCR, Caesar's Legion, and all other factions "meet" since it's in the middle of the US. Plus it might show what the heck happened to Mexico.

@coop36 COX put them to shame. Champions is a bit closer, but COX was far superior to either of those.

Bummer, this is still the best superhero MMO out there. With but a few tweaks to the system it could've dominated. They did so many things right. They even realized you could move a "story" forward in an MMO setting.

Farewell COH/V. I wish I'd played you more.
