@Gwarpup: yeah voodoo was used for 3dfx cards. Their api glide was way more optimized for he early 3d pc games than opengl direct3d.

@iceblast: I think its great that Oculus and vive are doing what they are. I think the room measuring is too much right now. But it will benefit me in the future so I dont really care.

@zapin99: The games ran horrible imo with anything but glide. I think its dumb to buy VR right now anyways.

This situation with exclusives reminds me, in some ways, like early 3d on pc's. In the late 90's, most enthusiastic gamers realized they would need a 3dfx card to play the games with the highest quality possible via glide. It didnt take long for that to end with Nvidia. I remember how there would be big discussions over this. As a consumer, I just went with the flow. I first had a ViperV330 (early Nvidia card) then realized I needed glide support to get the best experience. later on I had more options with Nvidia and improved directX/openGL. I still loved my gaming experience with 3dfx cards and would rather have them, than the Nvidia cards at the time.

@iceblast: Vr was in theme parks, I played some fps shooting gallery type games in the mid 90's and it was pretty damn good actually. The tech was there already, now they just can miniaturize it for the pc.

Well its too expensive for me right now. But at least they have the tech and it will be much cheaper at some point. What happened was the scale changed when FB bought the company. I think everyone at first thought Rift would basically just be headtracking in VR.

Lets see how many PSVR games get released on pc. I think the only market that makes sense business wise right now, is just headtracking games really.

If i had 4k HDR tv I think this would really immerse me, kinda how the first one did back on 360. I didnt like gears3.

@Xristophoros: Absolutely not. I bought it, right when it was available in the U.S. I take better care of my stuff than anyone I know. This is a well known problem with these psx's. Maybe you bought a much later revision?

@Xristophoros: Except that early psx fell apart while the N64 was solid. Teens who bought both consoles back then with own money or otherwise, probably didnt want to buy another psx after their 1st one broke. Happened to me and I stayed with N64.

I like the original playstation design. Too me it felt more like the higher end Sony design from the 80' and 90's that we all came to expect from them, not so much anymore.
