12 was great but where's the love for 6? I know everyone loves 7 and I enjoyed it as well, but if you're going to put so much effort into remaking a final fantasy, why wouldn't you pick the one that's never been updated or even remastered? Also, Shadows death was way more sad than Aeris in my opinion.
@tommygun6644 correct. the only "hero" that saves new york from a madman while he's hung over, smokes cigarettes and cracks jokes while taking the fight to his enemies. i like the everyday joe image of ol' john mclane. they kinda got away from that image in the new die hards, huh? maybe that's why they were just okay instead of awesome. i'll still watch them, though.

i had to stop playing this game after i bought it on day 1 because it was so good. i really want to squeeze my 60 bucks out of it, that's the only reason i stopped playing. i was afraid at the rate i was going i wouldn't stop until i beat it! it's pretty awesome when a game really sticks it to ya like that. great game, welcome back to my library Lara.
what a great article. are you listening developers? make us get attached and care about the heroes and even anti-heroes of your stories by constantly reminding us that tomorrow is promised to no one. even video game characters. maybe that's what the next step in the "maturation" of video games. remember heavy rain? granted it won't work in every game as this article points out but it is a great point to consider.
@ShadowOfKratos i lived in colorado when columbine happened, (i was in middle school) they tried to blame doom and marilyn manson for crazy kids. i watched the matrix sometime after that and i couldn't believe they didn't even mention that movie. was it because it was a movie? just a thought.
side note: i don't believe violent entertainment, interactive or otherwise, makes people commit heinous acts of violence, i believe some people are just wired wrong.

why did everyone hate kz3's ending? i guess it wasn't "great" (i can't remember it) but i enjoyed 2 and 3 quite a bit. i never got into the 1st one back in the day and i actually bought the god of war saga rather than kz trilogy but i would love to play through them again as a refresher.
side note: i know i'm late but i just finished god of war 1 and sweet jesus was that not the hardest final battle ever? stupid kratos clones! i played on hard and refused to change the difficulty. it took me 3 weeks. i refused to play it for 2 of those weeks because i was so mad so today was a good day for me as a gamer.
