I'm curious how the more expensive console will do against Sony. In the current console generation, there is no clear winner. Of course early on the Xbox was doing much better than the PS3, but in the long run it didn't matter. So how will the cheaper price point impact the next console war? Will Sony take the early lead like Microsoft did with the 360 launch? The main question I guess, is was the 360 so successful initially because it launched a year earlier, or because it was cheaper?

I'm sick of games that charge full price and still have the audacity to use microtrasactions. One or the other, or else I won't buy it.

Do publishers actually care if any console "wins" or "loses"? They get their game sales either way, whichever console its on.

Wow. I didn't think they would invest that much into this. I thought if anything they would invest in the Star Wars franchise or something.

I believe that you are right to a certain point. We have to allow developers to have certain creative freedoms, although there are sometimes things that are sacred to a game which they change. For example, I did not purchase Halo Anniversary because it ran on the Reach multiplayer engine. What I wanted most out of the Halo remake was the original pistol, and the original multiplayer. That for me was Halo, more than the campaign. I think games have to be faithful to their pasts because oftentimes that's what makes them good. What made Halo more than anything was the multiplayer. When Anniversary rid itself of the original multiplayer, it lost me. On the other hand there's creative freedom, so how do developers do what they want? Perhaps they could do both. Would it really have been that hard to update Duck Tales to modern times, but keep an old school mode in there for people who want it? Or would it have been that hard to include the original Halo maps alongside a Halo mode that had the original stats and weapons? Why can't we have it both ways?
