@silentchief: That’s what I was thinking. Flawed logic. Imagine your GPU becoming obsolete every year because a better one comes out? That’s what this poster is basically saying.

As someone who owns PSVR 1(sold now) & 2, and meta quest 2&3, I prefer meta quest 3. Sony hasn’t released much for it but 3rd party has. Nearly every game on meta is also on PSVR 2. If PSVR 3 has OLED, eye tracking, pancake lenses, decent pass through for AR and wireless, I may get it.

33.5 is way higher than I thought. I’m assuming we can compare the 10 TF PS5 and 12 TF series X(and 4 TF S) to this number? I’d imagine a lot of series S owners may make the jump to PS5 Pro unless Xbox decides to make another console. The people complaining about this are probably the same people who drop more than this console costs on a GPU every other year. I drop $1000 on a new phone every 3 years with marginal improvements without hesitation so this doesn’t seem all that bad. But I probably won’t get this because I barely game anymore.

@robertos: Put a few dirty undies on top of your PC in it’s “ventilated case” and no worries about theft 😂

@girlusocrazy: bigscreenvr.com

Apple Vision Pro also uses some kind of pancake lenses and OLED. So it’s definitely possible. I’m sure in the next 5 years we’ll see this as the norm. Meta quest 3 probably chose LCD for cost reasons.

@girlusocrazy: I didn’t know that. Just know that on my meta quest 3, the sweet spot for clarity is huge compared to my PSVR 2 or meta quest 2. I think that really small VR headset that’s either out or coming out uses pancake and OLED. I forgot the name of it but it’s the one that custom fits your face.

@TheEroica: lol well it’s good hardware. But yeah, I doubt I’ll get the next one unless it’s completely free from PS5/6. Basically just a standalone unit that can be used with a PS, PC or on its own.

PSVR 3 needs to be cordless. Having a swappable battery would be nice or one that last at least a few hours. Pancake lenses are a must have. After using Meta quest 3, it’s hard to go back to PSVR 2. Apple is on the right track but needs a much lower price point. AR also is a must have. I don’t mind the clip on or stuck in your pocket battery pack that Apple uses… takes weight off the headset. With meta quest 3, AR is much more interesting than VR.

Bought this game for the VR. Coupled with a force feedback steering wheel, pedals and shifter in a cockpit (I also have a fan blowing straight at me which help with motion sickness and keeps your face cool) I tried playing on my tv and it felt like I was driving from the backseat. Most fun vehicle is the gokart. Especially with the fan blowing at you, gives an interesting feeling of speed.
