@Phazevariance If money is no issue, a gaming rig with a Wii and PS2 emulator (dolphin emulator and PCSX2 respectively) will send you to upscale heaven. It does a better job than most HD remakes because it polishes the cut scenes too.
My wife went to China and she told me street vendors sell modded xbox's, ps3's and all sorts of console that can play pirated games. This "ban lift" doesn't change the gaming landscape over there very much.
I didn't mind the slow start. It helps you get a taste of how important social links and time management are. Though its kind of depressing the best vita games are HD remakes (MGS was great) I'm looking forward to the Final Fantasy's, Kingdom Hearts, and other great series that I could play on the go and in HD.
@Ayato_Kamina_1 Subs are one thing. I would like to see a drop in clutter like attack menus, gauges and swap items real time. Look at Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher bay; the only numerical guage was the bullet count on the weapons itself. That enhanced the game and made it better than the movies themselves.
I think the Wii U has some serious potential, more for the artistry then anything else. Get rid of the health bars, gauges, timers, etc. from the big screen and put it on the controller screen. Then it will really feel like your playing a movie rather then a game. I'd give anything for a Square Enix Nintendo partnership to remake games like Shadow Of Collosus, Final Fantasy 7-12, Xenosaga, Kingdom Hearts, etc with nothing but the clean screen and menu stuff on the controller,
