@uninspiredcup: I stopped watching the anime after Dragon Ball Z but that movie has been in my sights for a while now. Super Hero as well. I hear it's not as good but I'm ready for some Gohan action.

I'm surprised to see Barbie getting great reviews. I thought it was a silly live-action movie based on the toy. In any case, I doubt I'll be watching it anyway. I find Oppenheimer way more intriguing (obviously).

Saw it yesterday. Nothing mind-blowing but an excellent action movie. Well worth the cinema ticket.

Same thing happens in other industries but no one seems to care. Why is the entertainment industry different?

It's not. It has simply received more coverage as a news story. Not to mention that it's one of the most profitable industries.

That didn't answer my question. The public is involved and on the side of actors. Any other industry, they side with management.

Any particular case in mind? I find it hard that the general public would ever side with management when it involves wealthy executives that want to amass even more wealth.

It's interesting to see how the strike is going to affect the release schedule of upcoming movies and shows. It could really destabilize the movie industry if it keeps going.

To be honest it's hard to really care about millionaire actors that want a bigger cut of the profits but not every actor is Tom Cruise. There's a lot of small fish that struggle to make a living while the studio execs enjoy their extravagant salaries.

I'm very fond of Bethesda open world games. They are masters of exploration and environmental storytelling. So my vote goes to Oblivion and Fallout 3 that really stood out compared to their sequels.

Honorable mention to The Witcher 3. It features a rare mix of open world and intriguing quests.

So now we're getting remakes of 3 year old games? This only makes sense if they're working on a PC port and they're branding it as a remake.

In the film industry most of the time a faithful (physical) representation of a character is not as important as hiring a recognizable face that will better market the movie.

For example, casting Scarlett Johansson as Major Kusanagi in the live action Ghost in the Shell got a lot of flak for white-washing, yet whether we like it or not a considerable amount of people went to see the movie because of her.

Those that actually care about authenticity are usually a minority.
