@sakaixx: That's not the argument being made. The originals were made with replayability in mind and were mechanically superior to the remakes in a lot of key areas. It's funny how you claim I'm out of my depth and "lacking in research" when you have nothing to support your assertion.
@sakaixx: Too soon to judge what? That these games won't last as long as the originals? People were done with RE2 when they announced 3, and 3 is even more underwhelming in several key areas. GOTY means bugger all, just look at Death Stranding's "accolades." Finally how can someone be out of their depth when making observations? You desperately grasp at straws at the end claiming I've not played any of these games, which is disproven with a simple trip to my Steam profile. What a tragic excuse for an argument.
@Bread_or_Decide: This is proof positive that Sterling is a moron, as it's abundantly clear in this snarky review, that his subjective opinion on the value of objectivity makes him incapable of reviewing media objectively. XD
@G-Corleone: Indeed. The moment people throw out the word "opinion" then the review means nothing and creates a litany of problems. For one, how the author feels about something could, in all probability, be entirely unique to the author. Another problem that can arise is that someone may agree with the subjective point of view of said review and decree that the review is objectively good on those merits, when it can't resonate with others due to its subjectivity. The list goes on......
@sakaixx: And both of those games were forgettable garbage compared to their originals, that persist to this day. Especially the third one. Meanwhile, even the first Remake, while newer, is going the distance. I'd be very surprised if Remake 2 and 3 are being played in five years time.
