@Xristophoros: earliest will be 2022 probably around Christmas or they may just do another update system. They haven’t said a thing about PS5.

No way with the release of Pro and Scorpio your not gonna get a completely new console for awhile. 8 years will be the new standard especially if they are big sellers. Why you ask ? They make a ton more money with a 8 year console life than a short 5 years. Why would they decide to go back to short console life with PS1 and PS2 ? If PS4 goes way of PS3 you wouldn’t get a new console till end of 2021 but with new Pro and Scorpio you’ll wait longer.

@davillain-: 9 years between the PS3 and the PS4 also they just released the Pro. They make the big money off software. PS4 released at the end of 2015 so don’t expect a new PS5 console till at least 2024.
