@Big_Red_Button: It's slow because real twitch shooters don't work as multiplats. Controllers take an age to turn and aim precisely.

I'm still hopeful that this can be made to work, but they'd need to incorporate increased enemy AI and speed for single player and turbo mode servers for multiplayer, on PC. At the moment, the MP looks too compromised to appeal to the demographic Id is marketing to.

1. I'd stop focusing so much on Japanese hardware trends. They don't usually translate well to other markets.

2. I'd ease up on the old IP milking. Constant spin-offs are rapidly depleting Nintendo's key nostalgia assets.

3. For the next few years at least, I'd trim off any non-software developing fat from the company, set up a new studio division and operate purely as developer and publisher for other systems. The company name still carries enough weight to guarantee an attentive reception for some really well crafted new IP's, without them having to compromise on the Nintendo family brand image.

4. 2019/2020 - thaw out Mario et al for an on-par new system when it's clear which way the market has turned.

The Ministry of Broken Dreams and Hurt Feelings. Honestly, with Steam refunds being so easy now, it's not a big issue - the studios are just wasting their own time and money releasing in this state.

Probably the Pippen.

Or, no... the Lady's Super Cassette Vision.

Aah, who am I kidding, it's the Wii.

I don't know why Sony doesn't just lower in the deus ex machina now and cough up for the rest of the project. The interest is clearly there, so they may as well officially let us all in on the joke, refund the backers and give everyone a happy ending.

Leave it too long and cows are going to end up feeling really bitter about Sony's big treat for E3 2015.

For **** sake

The Witcher 3 was just developed on a $32 million budget. ($67 million total...$32 mill for the game...$35 mill on marketing)

And now there's people who don't think that a Shenmue game can be developed for around $10-15 million?

Because it sure as hell can

Don't forget that also depends on where your labour force is located. The Japanese average net salary is 3x that of the Polish.

That's unrealistic and they know it. Maybe this was always meant to be an episodic thing, but they didn't want to put backers off.

VR still carries two massive drawbacks - the lag-induced nausea and the external sensory deprivation. It's a real shame, because while no technology in the near future could provide a more immersive experience, those two flaws are going to prevent its mainstream success.

I reckon AR is a much more promising direction for console companies to be taking, but I don't know what kind of game designs would be feasible and compelling enough to sell the hardware.

I take it from these images that this episode's about Drake's difficult, but ultimately liberating, coming-out? Looks ok, but not really worthy of all that hype. Has there been a downgrade?

Horizon, on the other hand, is looking great. Let's hope it stays that way.
