@Open_Sights: Yeah - I never played CIV 4, so I can't really comment. Although, I hear that once the final version + expansions + user mods were all in their prime it was a fantastic experience (I found the same with Civ 3). And I only played a small amount of 5.
But yeah - I think calling Civ VI dumbed down, based on the videos, reviews, articles, etc seems a little silly - considering from what has been shown it seems to have MORE complexity than 1,2 and 3 (which is where my 100s, if not 1000s of hours lay).
I still haven't payed W2, although it is sitting in my Steam collection and I do intend to play it. However, I am a little perplexed that they needed to crowd-fund W3; surely if W2 was successful enough to warrant a sequel, then the money should be there already!
@brat1111: Steam just recommended this to me and the preview videos looked awesome. However, the 'mixed' reviews on Steam and the generally negative reviews in the mainstream gaming media made me decide not to buy this one.
Anyway - I'm curious, what made you decide to buy it? I've done all of about 5 minutes worth of research and I'm fairly satisfied that it is not worth buying.
I'm guessing hiking is literally 1000s of times worse for your health than VR.. I mean, in terms of risk of injury, even death.. without a freaking doubt!
