So. This is pretty cool, but the major roadblock on purchasing this for a person like me is that I have gone pretty much completely digital. With Nintendo's current policy of having to check into the internet to play my games on another console...taking this camping wouldn't really work.
If they offer a solution like that found on PS3/PSP, where you can have 2 main consoles (or more for some games) without requiring internet validation to registered consoles, then I would be way more excited for this. It would be great to have a secondary system for car trips and such for the kids.
I don't want to buy the same games twice. I don't want to change my primary system. I would be fun to have another Switch for travel/kids, but I am definitely hesitant about this until something "switches" with their policy.
I love the convenience of digital, I love that I don't get broken or lost games, but I need a little more flexibility on Nintendo's end to allow me to play on multiple systems. With physical, this is obviously not an issue, it shouldn't be with digital (with some limitations of course), either.

@Humdinger80 I can see your point about the price. It is a pretty steep buy in. I was able to pick one up because tax returns came in. I have really enjoyed my Wii U. I have been playing Wii games on it mostly though. However my kids LOVE Nintendoland and NSMB U, so that was worth it. F Zero on the Virtual Console looks amazing for a Super NES title. Much better than other SNES titles on the original Wii (Which I did transfer over, but have to play in Wii mode.). I think I am mostly excited about the things that are going to be rolling out over the next year. Sure it would have been nice to have them right out the gate, but what system that has been released in recent years has been at its potential. It takes a while. Fine with me. I have so many other games to play and catch up on that I am fine. It will be nice when things pick up, but it IS a waiting game right now. Thankfully I have a huge backlog of Wii, PS3, PSP, 3DS, and DS games (and several other "ancient" consoles) to catch up on. I'll stay optimistic.

@Ravenlore_basic I am excited to give Luigi's Mansion a try. An exciting new IP would be great, but it's not a deal breaker for me. Nintendo is kind of a comfort food of video games, and I am alright with that. That's awesome your son just beat the first Luigi's Mansion, my first time was actually this year also. My son also enjoys it, but he hasn't beat the game yet.

@Marshydude1 I'll take cartoon graphics man. But last I checked Fire Emblem and Metroid weren't super cartoony...that being said I don't need gore and blood to sate my video game interest. Also I own a PS3 for any further interests I may have in games. I really don't limit myself by loyalty to one brand. I buy what I want to play. Period. If a company makes something I like there's a good chance they'll have some money supporting their product from me. Nintendo makes a product I like, so do Sony and other companies.

...said the person with a screen name "oldandpervy"...

I can clearly see that Nintendo is struggling. Spelling their doom four months into their new console cycle seems to be a bit premature.

I like Nintendo, it's true. I also enjoy Sony. What is your point? I am not trying to name call or be forced to pick sides, I just think there ought to be a more objective stance on this whole "console wars" debate...rather than resorting to name calling...which usually doesn't hold up well when trying to prove your point.

@grbolivar You do know that Bayonetta 2 is exclusive to Wii U? I am glad to see you like the 3DS. I wish I had an XL, I do have the original 3DS. I am a multi console guy. Sony and Nintendo have been my mainstays. I agree that it would be nice to see more 3rd party support. But its still early in the game...hopefully things will turn around. We'll see. It's a waiting game now. Whether or not they get a lot of 3rd party, I'll still be enjoying the Wii U...there's so much on the horizon for the system.

@grbolivar They were also king when the Wii launched 6 1/2 years ago. They are also king right now if you'd like to look at the 3DS and DS. Xbox (7 years old is the current home console winner, I'll freely admit it.) Actually a decade ago they were really struggling as far as the Gamecube is concerned. GBA was doing pretty well though...and I believe NDS was soon to arrive.

Don't get me wrong I can see that Nintendo isn't in a great place with the Wii U, I just think it's too early to spell their death sentence. I hope they pull things up for their sake. Their success doesn't mean I want Sony to fail either. Each company brings different experiences. I'll admit that I am not as much a fan of Microsoft, but that is because my Xbox 360 scared the crud out of me with its constant freezing and the news of so many Red Rings of Death.

@pedroabperneta What if I liked both companies...or even all three? Do I have to choose sides?
