@Some-Mist: I guess I don't remember the game getting much publicity, and everyone That I play games with always say Ika.....HUH?!? I picked it up for 10 bucks at a pawn shop back when Gamecube was still selling in stores. I really didn't even know much about it other than it was made by treasure who had made gunstar heroes, one of my favorites of all time. I guess I just assumed it had not received good ratings because of it's very limited release and lack of interest by many. I din't even realize they had released it for 360 XD

If I may I'm gonna bounce around a bit with my game selection. I have so many games that I think are very under-rated or were just completely forgotten about going back aways.

Steel Empire was a shooter for the Sega Genesis. It seems like it was kind of generic, but once I played it I was hooked. The soundtrack was amazing for the Genesis. It was the first shoot em up that really grabbed me. One of my favorite parts of the game was the choice between a blimp and a bi plane and the difference in the way they handled and the firepower they had. To me it really added depth, and as you made it further in the game affected your strategy.

Red Steel was a Launch Title FPS for the Wii. I thought it really showed what could be done with the wii at the time. It was critically panned by most publications at the time, yet I thought it was great fun especially, the local multiplayer. The wii mote control scheme seemed to equalize the gameplay since even avid gamers had to learn a new way to play. The graphics were not that great, but I loved how the angle you hed the controller affected how your hand was on the game. Obviously the second one is much better, but I have a soft spot in my heart for the first, since it seemed so innovative at the time.

Sakura Wars: So Long My Love is a Strategy/ Dating Sim Rpg for the Wii. The quirkiness and story really pulled me in. I really wish we would see more games like this released in the US. I think it's just so far from the norm that it seems so original and different. It's really something you must try to understand what it's like. It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy jrpgs you should be able to see it's charm.

I could probably go on with this list all night but I'll just list a couple more that I spent a lot of time with that nobody seems to remember.

Red Faction: FPS for PS2 with destructible environments and bots

Fighting Force: Beat em up for PS1 that I played through at least 10 times.

Ikaruga: Shoot em up for GC that is so beautiful in every way that nobody seems to have heard of.

Battalion Wars: Spin off of the Advance Wars series for GC and Wii, but you actually get to control your army.

Rippin Riders: Snowboarding Game for the Dreamcast that I still enjoy playing from time to time even with it's wonky controls.

LAIR: Was an Action/Adventure game with Dragons for PS3. After the control update it was a pretty good game. When I read the reviews I thought it would be terrible, but a friend said they had a controller option update and it made the game much more playable

@foxhound_fox It's actually Panasonic Viera, not Toshiba. Toshiba does not make a plasma, and yes they are awesome for gaming :-)

Do you absolutely need to go 32"? You can get a plasma 42" in the 300-500 price range that will have better picture quality and smoother response than any 32" LED. Also in 32" size it's hard to find 1080p mainly because you can't see the difference in that size of television unless you are 6" from the screen so there are not many. If you absolutely must go 32" right now Toshiba, LG and Sony are your best bets because of their low input lag for gaming. You could also consider an Asus 27" Monitor which are the best for gaming and around $350.

Here is a website that checks out and ranks tvs and pc monitors by input lag. Right now Asus is the top by far.

See if there is an eco mode to turn off some where in the settings. I had a TV that would dim itself to save power and I thought it wasn't working, but their was an eco mode that I had to turn off in a different options menu.

@TheShadowLord07: Try clicking on your start icon in the lower left corner. When your start menu pops up type msconfig into the text box at the bottom. go to startup and services and see if it is in either one of those. Uncheck the box next to it to disable it completely. If you do not use the program you can also uninstall it by going into start menu> control panel>uninstall a program. Find it on the list of programs then uninstall.

If you feel a virus or trojan may be an issue pick up a copy of malwarebytes from here. For anti virus check out this article and decide for yourself. I have tried most and use AVG, have had problems with Avira and UAC. also check out this program called CCleaner. it has some registry cleanup stuff as well as program removal in its free version that works great. Hope this helps.

It's actually really cool thinking about the old computers I built and messed with. I've also had a bunch of other stuff that people gave me that I would play with for a while then give to someone that needed a PC. I've probably had near 30-40 different little projects over the years. One of my favorite was when someone gave me and old amd k6 here a couple years ago and I got it up and running windows 2k pretty well. It even had an old 3dfx voodoo card in it. I got my old copy of Starcraft running on it, but it was just too old for anything more than nostalgia.

Thanks for the memories :-)

I say buy a PS3 and wait a year or so. The launch for both next gen systems is mediocre at best. PS3 has hundreds of great games you can get for less than a trip to the movies that are much greater experiences than you will be able to pick up next gen for at least 6 months or so. Not to mention early adopters of game consoles typically get the shaft as far as reliability, price and glitches.

Definitely!! One of the best Strategy Role Playing Games you will play. There is a lot of depth and the story is great. The art work is similar to Ni No Kuni. It's like watch an anime when playing, but the menus look like a story book. If you like JRPG this game will not disappoint at all.
