It wasn't the most ideal way to begin the week. On Monday morning, we noticed a water leak in the bath. The water was flowing through the ceiling and into my rack, the server cupboard that houses the boiler fusebox and boiler. The router was faulty and sputtering but we didn't cut the electrical circuits. It could have been worse. The culprit was the shower handset which was housed in its holster but left on at the lowest setting to drip water down the bath into the room below.
I had a dentist appointment that morning at 9am and the added stress wasn't welcome! I was a little stressed in the bright light thinking of my soggy home but thankfully everything was well with my teeth.
I was concerned that the bathtub was leaking. I removed the side panel using the aid of a Stanley knife. This was a waste of time as the bath had been covered in tiles and its underside was blocked off. Great.
- My dad visited to seal the bath and assure us that everything will be good. We'll have to dry the cupboard and paint the ceiling or walls.
- The boys have been learning all about the Queen at school in preparation for their Jubilee party this week. The entire school gathered to enjoy an Jubilee tea celebration after the school decorated their playground with blue, red and white bunting. They can all tell me how old she's and also other royal facts they've learned.
We purchased a Nintendo Switch. H had been wanting one for a long time, but it wasn't the right time. He was too young. They were out of stock. The price was usually increased and so on. But with an John Lewis offer we purchased the latest OLED version, with additional Joy-Cons, as well as three games: Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario 3D World (with Bowser's Fury). It's as well-designed as I'd think and the games are as great as I had hoped from Nintendo.
We made it clear that it was the family Switch to ensure that his younger brother (and father!) can play, and he won't claim it as his own. He was beaming with joy when we showed him the box. I was ecstatic to test it out, but that was nothing compared to the joy it brought him.
