You know what I agree 100% no matter if you play it on consoles or PC this game is awesome and I thought it should have gotten more awards. I like it more then Gears. Although Gears horde mode is the same concept I guess in a way.

[QUOTE="DeathScape666"] They were the most popular genres back in the day. Fact. On GameSpot, yes. On GameRankings, PC is owned by the 360 and PS3. I know we are on GameSpot, but I still love to point it out.Vandalvideo
Most popular means absolutely nothing. The simple facts of the matter are that the PC is the platform with the single highest ammount of exclusivse and highly rated titles. From a purely objective point of view, the PC clearly takes the cake.

Explain "takes the cake"?

I mean for PC gamers yes that list is good and the best, but not to all and everyone especially console gamers. And to say popular means nothing is just a way to avoid the obvious!

[QUOTE="killab2oo5"][QUOTE="guitarsrock4eva"] various programmes etc. you also have to really know what your doing when you want a gaming PC. this is why consoles are succesful. you can go out and buy a Wii,360 or PS3 with no knowledge of how they work and hardware specs and buy some games and just play as soon as its plugged in. with a PC you have to spend a lot of money on a good system with good hardware and then wait to install games. sure you might get better results on a PC but for ease of use consoles will always be betterguitarsrock4eva
>.> Not really. You install the game..possibly update you driver which you can automatically do in System Manager, and play.

yes but my point is that from the offset its easier to buy a console than get a good gaming PC. you have to know what your doing with a PC to get the best results. whereas consoles are just insert disc and play.

That and adjusting specs on a rig if needed in order to play a game is way different then just clicking update on consoles :)

[QUOTE="jasonheyman"]I have never had that problem! An update can not keep you from playing a game offline under your profile! Unless it was a fluke with the Froza 2 game!angryfodder

Trust me mate - it happened. The only way I would have been able to play the game was to start a new profile that wasn't linked to XBL in anyway and start the game off fresh. I've only ever had it in two games though. Forza 2 and crack down. Crackdown was slightly different, the game just froze up at the start menu when not connected.

That is very rare then. You don't have to be on XBL in order to play 60 dollar games. I'd return both of those and get your money back because that should have never happened!

3 and 5 for me

I just wanna stick a disc in and play the game

Even those little ms updates over XBL annoy me

angryfodder

One of the reasons I had for preferring consoles to PC was I could slip in a game and play without having to wait for a stupid install. Now that has even changed which sucks.

Yup and it gets worse. A while back I had no internet connection so couldn't get onto XBL. No big problem right? Except when I tried to load up Forza 2 and play some career mode (an offline mode). The game demanded an update and refused to let me load up my forza profile until I did it. Something that is impossible without an internet connection.

I could understand if I was trying to play online - but offline? There should never be a situation where you need to connect to XBL to play a single player/offline game.

While I am all in favour of customization, I think that is very much a "weakness" because if hermits want to defend the PC, there needs to be a reasonable baseline to start from. The same for promoting PCs to the general public who may want to game on them. With a console it is easy, just plug in and play. But I think most people are confused by PCs because there are just too many options and it is tough for normal people to know what they need, what is reasonable, how long it will last, etc.

somehow you can say the same thing about just about everything except for consoles. You want to buy a car? It's the same. You want to buy a house? It's the same. People who are incapable of making such choices are either to young, stupid or lazy. :P

Or better yet, maybe they just don't want the headaches  ;)

Every one of those options could be considered PC's greatest weakness!

I'd say a console if you like putting a game in and playing, PC if you like extras ;)
