This is not a case of convience or pc developers wanting to be generous.

1.A good portion of PC users cannot figure out how to get maps and such let alone install them.

2.the ones that usually can do this are hermits and most knowledgeable pc users have an overexadgerated self worth complex and feel they shouldn't be charged for anything ever, its suprising most dedicated pc users actually pay for ga.....wait they don't which is why PC piracy is so massively bad.

3.In light of this no PC developer or Developer in general princple would ask pc users to pay for any sort of content unless the content had so much development time they couldn't cut it under free in the company profit.

All this bashing on how Killzone 2 doesn't come close to looking as good as Crysis is nonsense. Ok so I have seen my friend beat Crysis on MAX settings and I've beaten K2. We both agree that Crysis overall LOOKS better but considering everything going on at once, K2 wins.

K2 has better animation, lighting, more enemies on screen at once and has way more going on at once on screen.

Now fanboys will say that Crysis is a huge open world environment, who cares? If it's so big and open and nothing is going on onscreen then why does it matter?
