i chose halo over the Orange Box and COD4 because halo is an awesome multiplayer game. 4-person co-op, constant multiplayer updates, and such. Orange Box and COD4 are superb though.
i doubt they will ever give a game a 10. i liked it better when they didnt round it to .5 or whatever because it would show how close the game came to flawlessness.
look dude, all the games you pointed out to being fun are all shooters. mario is a platformer. your view on fun is preference, bhut the review is stating that it is an amazing platformer.
achievements are just challenges the game throws at you. the points are to prove you did it. and in halo3 you get a new helmet and armor if you collect all of them.
