I'm gonna be picking up a copy of each game on the cheap, and want to get a blaster attatchment. With that said, it's been a while since i played TheUC and can't remember if you can change the control mapping so the main trigger can go to one of the nunchuk buttons (C or [preferably]Z). This will affect my choice of wii attatchment and knowing this before hand would help, so if anyone could answer me this I would be very grateful.

[QUOTE="Metamania"]

Actually, the only way I can see him become a master is if Capcom decides to evolve the character in the next SF, Street Fighter V (IF such a thing will EVER happen).

Metamania

I hope they do. It would be nice to see him as a secret character in the next game with Gouken style ability (not EXACTLY the same though) and let Sean and Ken fill the spaces as your basic Shoto's in the game.

I also thought it would be less predictable aswell if it turned out Bison was Ryu's father instead of Akuma (which they keep hinting at). It would go a long way to explaining why Ryu is an orphan and why the dark hadou inside him is fighting to get out and rises when Bison or his energy is near, and why Ryu would be a suitable body for Bison's soul. And as a further point why the dark hadou was a choice for Akuma but Ryu seems to be struggling even though he doesn't want it AND also explains why it's never been a problem for Ken (who you would think with his brash nature and intense rivalry with Ryu would be more likely to fall to it).

I'm sorry, but with all due respect, your theory is laughable at best! Bison's power comes from true hatred and has nothing in common with the Dark Hadou. The Dark Hadou is all about murderous intent. Similiar to each other, yes, but not really. Both fighters have a different art style and it just wouldn't make sense for Bison to be Ryu's father. None whatsoever...and I'm not sure about Akuma either. I'd like to think that Akuma and Ryu are more related to each other, but not in the father and son fashion. I'm hoping that Capcom will eventually reveal Ryu's backstory and show where he came from. As for Sean and Ken, Ken needs to stay above Sean and not be toned down to a basic shoto. For right now, that's Sean's role - he just started his training with Ken and is trying to improve on his own. In SFV, I'd like to see Sean's skill improve a lot more, but show that he still a long way to go.

I agree that Pscyho Power and Dark Hadou are different, I just thought it would be an interesting twist if the whole time they had confused Psycho Power with the Dark Hadou, hence why Ryu has been having the problems. I think saying that each has a different art style is redundant though because the martial art they are trained in would be down to who trained them, not who they are as individuals. I also don't think Ken should "drop" to Sean's level but Ken and Ryu have been, for the most part, the same since Street Fighter 2 and have been the main Shoto characters in the games. I'm sure Sean would be different to Ryu in the same way Ken is but if, for example, someone picked up a Street Fighter game and couldn't pick Ryu I am sure they would have no problem using Ken.

The thing I don't understand with the Dark Hadou is, as I said before, why is Ryu struggling with it? He IS a good character. It's been more or less said the entire time that Akuma CHOSE to go down the dark path. Ken, also a weilder of the Hadou, has not struggled with it, and I can't figure out why.

I always thought it would be a great twist in the story for it to turn out that Bison was Ryu's father, having raped (sorry to be blunt) Ryu's mother, and she had killed herself because she couldn't deal with the "shame" (note: I'm not saying rape victims should be ashamed, but it's a common known feeling among victims), but not before giving birth to Ryu and leaving him orphaned.

The whole time Ryu had been struggling with Dark Hadou, or what the other characters BELIEVED to be Dark Hadou, it would have actually been latent Psycho Power in his being passed down from his father, which given his martial art of choice would have been difficult to distinguish from Dark Hadou. This would also explain why, at least in terms of story, he has always been ahead of Ken, because he essentially had a genetic leg up.

Then, he could purge himself of his evil Psycho Power and it could manifest as Evil Ryu (much in the same way Bison purged his good side and Rose was created).

How they would all find out about the link between him and Bison I had never thought about, because in my mind Bison wouldn't know Ryu is his son either, seeing as Ryu's mother was just another faceless victim of his evil and he had just done the deed and moved on.

As Raul Julia says in one of the only good bits in the film "For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. For me, it was a tuesday."

Things must be very different in America because you just couldn't do that over here in the UK. You'd need proof of purchase.

[QUOTE="MeanQuestion"]Superman can go back in time and abort Goku. Game over.
Master_Live

This.

Capsule corp has time travel technology, Goku could just go back an intercept him. Besides, it took Superman enough energy to rewind time one day (and is that even considered a real power of his in the comics, not just a crappy film plot device?), never mind going back 40 years. Plus Goku wasn't born on earth so he couldn't find him anyway and would just walk into an army of Saiyans AND Frieza if he did.

I know this is an old thread but I google searched something to this effect because I wanted to put my two penneth into the debate.

Goku would win hands down and he wouldn't even need to be at SS4 to do it.

It follows this logic:-

Goku can destroy planets with his bare hands at his lower power levels, Superman cannot.

While Superman may be strong, he is not versed in combat where as Goku is recognised as a master of martial arts independent of his powers.

Superman is NOT indestructable as some people say, hence why Doomsday almost killed him.

Regardless of whether Goku knew about Superman's weaknesses, if you've watched enough Dragon Ball, often enough when the fights get truly epic the energies cause most light to fade and the skies to blacken and cloud over. So in the unlikely event Goku HAD to go that high in his power, he would probably cause Superman to weaken as an unintentional bi-product.

Finally, if you were to change this to "who would win between The Incredible Hulk and Goku" most people (who knew what they were talking about) would say Goku by a country mile. Superman and Hulk were quite evenly matched but Superman edged it in the DC Vs Marvel graphic novel. So if he only just beats Hulk he hasn't got a chance against Goku.

[QUOTE="mjulstein"]This actually means that what you see in the demo is what Gearbox consider to be the best the game has to offer, as a demo is supposed to sell the game... And by that theory I don't believe the game could be any better.Black_Knight_00
Not necessarily. This wouldn't be the first time a beta demo gets released and the final game is different

I refer you back to my earlier comment on which mjulstein was commenting on. At this stage, this close to launch, it is very unlikely the full game will be any different.

Yes but surely he must be at least making progress. I don't care how dedicated he is to it, if you are doing the same thing for 30 years and getting no better at it it might be time to call it a day.

I'm a little worried here.

Obviously I'm waiting for the demo to hit XBL and yes, it wouldn't be the first time a demo has been bad and the game has been great, but when the demo is released THIS close the launch date it does raise alarm bells.

If it was a full 6 months away then I would't be so bothered but since it isn't I'm worried that one of the best things from my gaming youth has been bastardised.

At least I reinstalled Duke 3D the other day, never fails to entertain.

I have been wondering, for some time, when we are going to finally see Master Ryu.

The story seems to go along with the idea that although Ryu does have the dark hadou inside him he will ultimately overcome it as non of his main storylines have shown him to really succumb to it and he is, at heart, as pure as the driven snow. Evil Ryu, as a character, is thrown in for the sake of being able to play as him.

I'm tired of waiting basically. I want the issue resolved now, it's one of the most drawn out storylines in game history. As far as I see it, the best way to resolve it would be for Ryu to purge himself of the dark hadou and it to be so strong and it manifests itself as a seperate entity, thus giving Evil Ryu a canon appearance and also bringing up the possibility of Ryu Vs Evil Ryu or, as I would like, Ken Vs Evil Ryu.

I have seen a mod which skins Gouken up with the alternate costume for Ryu on Street Fighter 4 on the PC, and it wetted my appetite further. When is Ryu finally going to make that step up and just be completely zen and more or less unstoppable? Will this lead to a final showdown between Master Ryu and Oni/Shin Akuma (whatever they want to call it)?

Thoughts?
