Bought a NES a few weeks ago that came with Super Mario/Duck Hunt. I've since ordered Mega Man 1-2-3-6, Donkey Kong (original arcade version) , Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge.

I also bought a Sega Genesis Model 1, but no games yet. I'll try to make my way through my current selection of NES games before I dive into the 16-bit era :D

I've got a question for the people here who have these collections I just spent minutes drooling over:

How does one go about creating such a collection? Did you buy the games and consoles starting from back in the day and just stuck with everything (not re-selling it), or is the stuff mostly bought second hand later on?

I ask because I one day aspire to have such collections. Unfortunately, when I was a kid we gave our NES away when the N64 came along. Gave the N64 away when the PS2 came along. Now at the current gen I decided that I wanted to start collecting, with the sad realization that I lost what had once been acquired. So in other words, is it too late?

I'm nearing the end of Doom 3 (BFG Edition), and after New Years, when family visits quiet down, I'll try to play Max Payne 3 completely before school starts:D

Hey guys I've been away from consoles for quite a few years now and I've got an inquiry.

A few years ago I got a laptop that was able to play all the games I wanted at the time as I moved to College. However at the moment, it's lagging behind and I can't play all the games I want. So because of that I'm planning on building myself a gaming tower next year probably. Just recently, I saw an interesting PS3 bundle and coming from a PS2, the PS3 is my console of choice if I had to chose one. I know that the PS3 has been out for a while, but as the PS2 had a long life, and no PS4 has been announced, I'm banking on the fact that the PS3 will still be good for a few years at least.

My question is, would it be a safe bet to jump onto the PS3 at this point in time or am I better off getting a new PC?

Thanks for any input, it would be much appreciated!

The "game of the year edition" just went on sale on Steam for $4,99. I only ever played Morrow Wind for a few minutes before getting bored quite a few years back. The only other RPG's I've played are Diablo and The Witcher (loved them both). Is Oblivion still a good buy at this price after Skyrim's release?
