[QUOTE="hashimgillani1"]Gears 2, the first one wasnt all that greatgustavog117

Right.
That's why it's been almost 2 years since it's release and people still play it today.
It set the bar for most games and even inspired others.
Whenever I play any game now, I usually don't enjoy it because it was never as good as Gears.
Gears of War 2 will be one of the best games made in the History of gaming.
Bigger than Halo.

That's pretty stupid to let one game jade your view on other games. And sorry, Gears 2 will NOT be one of the best games made in history as, like previously stated, the first Gears wasn't even that great. The only thing it had going for it was being the first game to use the Unreal 3 engine (which is already played out and wack now). The story was damn near non-existant, it was repetitive, and it was way too short. Why do people put Gears up on this pedestal when there are many games that destroy it?

I dont judge other games on a Gears of War scale so I agree it is dumb to do that, but when did you see a 3rd person shooter with a cover system that did it quite perfectly before Gears came out. Lots of people still play, the Unreal Engine wasnt its only good feature, the story was short, and it seems to get better in Gears 2. I accept peoples opinions but some of the things you stated just arent true.

Completley true, Gears ROCKED and so will Gears2. Gears is easily one of the main reason I wanted and eventually bought a 360. I still come back to this game, and honestly I think the game was pretty long but maybe it's just b/c I have college, a job, friends and a girlfriend in my life and don't have much time to play alot. The length was perfect. Graphics STILL set the bar.

I was attracted by the stellar graphics, sucked in by the amazing atmosphere and then rewarded by finishing the magnificent story. In a time where multiplayer is what most people focus in, it's great to have such an awesome single-player game.

I concur. If you're obsessed with cod 4 and Halo you might approach this game wrong. It's got plenty of action, but it's the story and how you can approach every room differ. I love all the guns and using differ types of ammo. I love setting the dead bodies on fire cuz they burn so well and then using my telekenesis to set other things on fire cuz it spreads in this game so long as it's flammable. Or shoot them toward enemies like a fire ball and it lights them on fire. I love making the big daddies follow me around and protect me, or make them do battle with each other. Or freezing an enemy and then bashing it to shreds...etc And the feeling of it all was so omnious almost scary like. The 50's like music but the futuristic looking dystopia. If you have ever read Atlus Shrugged the book then you'll get an idea of the main theme behind this game. Play it. Its only 39.99 now as well.

IT always annoys me that no matter how much you think you have mastered a fighting game, some noob comes in and starts mashing buttons and stomps butt all over the place.......it's like why even bother practicing?

[QUOTE="funkyeyk"]Does anyone ever think these threads are created by Microsoft Interns?LP4EVA2005

hahaha

I was thinking the SAME thing actually lol. This guy sounds like he's about to wet himself with acheviements hahaha. In my honest opinion, it's all a load of bollocks to me, simply an imaginary pissing contest between nerds with no lives online. I can feel it......yep, a moderation is coming my way very soon for this message cuz I probably hurt somebody's feelings and I guess opinions are appreciated only if they match your own.

trust me DMC4 is awesome!! Nero is a complete bad as, and they both really do have complete differ style and the moves are real flashy. Just once in awhile the cut scenes get cheesy sometimes campy. But for the most part you will LOVE this game for its replayability, fun differ characters you get to play, and the visuals are some of the best to date on the current systems.

Well I did say it for the joke but to now be helpful, yes it is hard. It's harder sometimes borderling cheap in other places. If you are a causual you might be better off with DMC4. Or go download ninja gaiden black of greats hits.
