@Artha_Penn: "It doesn't have to be perfect to me. It just has to let me log in."

If your standards are so low to the point of just being happy to log in thats fine, just don't then turn around and act as though the people who do have actual standards are wrong to do so.

@Deckard2323: Thats kind of the point as they wrote themselves into a corner that professional writers should be able to see coming from miles away. There was no other way for it to end with the way season 7 ended, they had to kill the night king quickly and unceremoniously so we could get a resolution with Cersei with what little time they have left before the show ends. They should have planned ahead and made a storyline that doesn't reduce a 7 season long looming threat to a single episode that ends in the old and lazy trope of killing one bad guy which kills all the minions and saves the day last moments with debatebly one important character dying in a show that made its name around its characters being able to die.

Season 8 of GoT is the embodiment of "crap we've written ourselves in a corner" and was doomed to drop in storytelling quality from the beginning. You have six episodes to resolve the two big bads so whichever is fought first you know is gonna lose and without main characters dying because they are needed for the real finale. The way season 7 ended left no room for a good conclusion to the series.

I do absolutely disagree with the notion that this episode wasn't a blast to watch. I even recommended people who don't watch GoT to watch this episode for over an hour of nearly unbroken combat that puts most movies to shame with the visuals and satisfying combat. It's just a shame that the story doesn't remotely resemble to style or themes that the show was founded on.

@Mogan: I think being a Star Wars game is a big part of it. Disney probably isn't happy about their prize franchise getting bad press and I really doubt the Battlefront games have been as profitable as they wanted. Respawn just delivered them Apex which has been a huge hit and checks all the modern gaming trend boxes so they probably have some leeway to make decisions.

To all the "It's EA so its bad" people this is the studio that made Titanfall 2 a few years ago which was very solid. If EA didn't make that game suck there's no reason to assume this will. Of course I'll wait to see gameplay first but I'm hopeful.

"But you're living in a f***ing dream world."

Yes.... that's the point of fiction. Especially of the super hero variety.

Game looked like a total joke that did nothing with the Walking Dead brand.

@ecurl143: That was a smart move from Respawn but a pretty crucial part of that is its free to play. When you don't have to put any money down it's a lot easier to try out something you've never heard of before.

Ambitious take on an old concept but when that ambition comes at the price of constant loading screens you can count me right on out.
