Thanks for the help! I actually tried unchecking the automatic restart. It's definately a software problem, and I have no idea why it started all of a sudden. I think my best bet would be to try and somehow open catalyst or get updated drivers, but catalyst won't open because it says the host application stops working everytime I try to boot it up.

Sorry, here's a better version of the display section. I couldn't add the spoiler tags without the text messing up.

I've been having problems with my laptop for the past couple of days, and what I thought was originally problems with TOR actually ended up being problems with playing games on my notebook in general.

I keep it well ventilated with a deal that props it up and keeps it tilted. This prop also has two 120mm fans underneath it and I've never had a problem with playing games up until recently.

I've tried updating it (my drivers) with catalyst (after uninstalling both catalyst and my drivers several times in safe mode) but catalyst won't open because it always says the "host application" stops working. So I can't update my drivers. Again, this is with any game that I play. It will just completely shut itself down without any warning or reason.

I've played games that are more graphic heavy than TOR and have never had problems. I realize it isn't the game but rather it's on my end and after about a week of troubleshooting I'm ready to just reformat everything. Any help would be much appreciated.

I could rant on about how rockstar is creating this game to support this setting and it's backdrop, but i'm too tired to argue on a forum where clearly most of the people here havent read any previews on it.

Basically, sure, max payne is different, but they are bringing an immense amount of detail, to not only bullet time and beefy physics that surpass that of GTA4 using the euphoria engine, (yes i know it was the same one used) as well as bringing us a side of max that has been affect by the environment of the ghettos of south america. Its still going to be a gritty "noir" story, just without all the rain, all the new york cliche stuff and giving us a much more dangerous setting. The problem with most people is that they dont like change, but to me, its max payne, its bullet time, its gritty story with awesome narritive and its different than what we've seen.

they wouldnt change it for nothing. wait for gameplay videos, some of you are so quick to judge a couple of screenshots, why dont you actually try and see what the game is like before jumping to a "jungle warzone" conclusion.

Rainbow Six Vegas 1, because it left you sayin "wtf". Fallout 3, just because i really didnt see an ending coming. The Suffering, Cod 4, and KOTOR1, just because of the HUGE twist i did not see coming.
