Well, they haven't removed ANY of the features I bought the PS3 for, so I don't really care.
MAYBE you bought the PS3 for the wrong reasons
GhoX
I think that the wrong attitude to have.
So what your saying is, you don't care simply because the features removed weren't the features that YOU particularly care about.....honestly that sounds rather selfish.
I mean, shouldn't you care on the general principle of consumer rights? Shouldn't you care that big corporations can just arbitrarily crap on people and get away with it?
Seriously, isn't what your saying selfish?
Capitalism leads to individualism. People will always care less about things which don't affect them. It's all fair game. Even if "Sony should be sued", "removal of features" is not a valid ground for any legal actions. Then again, I doubt anybody read the terms and conditions or what is and isn't Sony's liability when they bought their PS3.Removal of features is perfectly legal grounds on which to sue. If I sold you care advertised to do 0-60 in 5 secs. Later I send out a patch to the engine management system that increases your fuel consumption but reduces your car speed to 0-60 in 8 seconds, you'd be mad. Sony advertised a feature that they are retrospectively removing.
In Europe 100% they will get sued, there's now a specific law "Significantly not as described". In the US the law tends to favour corporations and not individuals, but they may still get into trouble.
Can anyone say they are suprised at Sony? I mean they are notorious for what rootkits, fake film reviews, need for speical "sony" type connectors, lovers of DRM etc etc.
