But if that is true, it probably means that the true culprit is Halo. CoD was different from the rest of it's sequels. But after Halo 2 everyone was like we have to make games like that. With CoD2 the changes took place and the simple ripoff and out of place regen mechanic became some else just because it had a blood effect before taking place. After that the damage was already done and CoD4 simply perfected that.

Actually, there's a pretty steady flow of weekly releases from now until the end of the holiday season. This month alone has already seen Dead Island, Resistance 3, and Warhammer: Space Marine. Gears 3 hits in less than two weeks and the HD collections, God of War: Origins and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus respectively, also land this month.

Next month also will see a glut of games and then November will be hemorrhaging software. I'm already deciding what I'm going to place on the backburner because frankly, there's no way to play it all this holiday season.
