@Maroxad: Having enemies with 0 IQ just standing there looking at you, not doing anything isn't 'clever' or 'deep' or 'complex' well made in any sense.
Have enemies that are much more intelligent, much more aggressive and actually have a move set that you need to plan against and strategically time your dodges and parries against would make it a vastly superior system. But you're one of those guys that wants to mash buttons against a lifeless dummy, and just stand still and tank hits until the health sponge dies.
In games like this I can disconnect my controller, take a piss, fill a cup of water, turn the controller back on and still be alive. because enemies are dumb.
In God of War before the neurons in my brain switched on to even processed a thought I would have been struck down and instantly killed (unless I correctly timed my dodge/parry depending on what was necessary in the moment) let alone switch my controller off and get up.
Fextralife, in his review of the game summed it up perfectly (slight paraphrasing): DD2 combat doesn't require any skill at all, instead it requires preparation". (meaning right gear / class / abilities / vocations / etc..) Maybe thats why you enjoy it so much and I find it unengaging compared to GOW or any Souls game.
But as I said in my other post, using the Thief Vocation gives us at least a dodge button making the combat ever more engaging (instead of just standing still and tanking hits until the dumb enemy is dead)
