@nilsdoen: 😆 I knew many elitist people like you in art school. Education doesn't come from a piece of paper. Clearly, since you got caught out calling traditional critique "insane" despite studying art history.

@nilsdoen: You haven't qualified your argument at all.

Your comment about the Hero's Journey is telling of what you're even familiar with. Lol that's what stuck with you? You think youre being clever, but you're just revealing your lack of education and critical thinking.

As I said, you're out of your depth. Have a great day.

@Barighm: Yes I know that. They try, at least. I was responding to the other guy's comment.

@nilsdoen: Haha you're so out of your depth.

Aesthetic principle include any universal rules regarding creative mediums, including visual, literary, musical, cinematic, ludonarrative and so on. Its how Gamespot and most reviewers try to critique work. Its the traditional method of most critics, at least those untainted by Postmodernism and deconstructivism. The goal of this method is to identify qualities of a creative work that transcend any one context and apply to the whole of the human experience. These principles can be as simple as, say, the visual arts' principle of Repetition, or as complex as literature's Hero's Journey. This method of critique doesn't bog itself down with transient, temporal culture, especially when the work isn't even bringing it up. The meaning of such things, tied as they are to any given zeitgeist, will fade in a decade's time and be lost altogether after a century. Its a school of thought founded through Platonism and progressed by thinkers like Immanuel Kant.

But please, explain to me why that's "insane", why you know better than literal thousands of years of refined thought.

@nilsdoen: The quality of a creative work has nothing to do with the politics around it. Creative work must be judged independently of all context, on the merit of its technical execution, on the way it implements aesthetic principles.

@nilsdoen: Why are politics involved at all, in any game review? The hell does this game have to do with the war? The studio is Russian so they're automatically guilty?

I'm really enjoying this game. It's relaxing. The slow pace is fine with me because it gives me time to appreciate the incredible environmental storytelling and overall aesthetic.

Hmm it's almost like the slower pace and the art direction were designed to work in tandem 🤔

Also, I've yet to encounter any bugs. I'm playing on Series X.
