Today I was playing Lost Odyssey (which I adore, btw); I arrived at the second section of Ice Canyon only to be greeted by a very strange graphical problem; everything looked shiny. And not the good kind of shiny, the 'Wow, is that ice made of plastic?' kind of shiny. All the colors were washed out, and to some extent, blurred together; I didn't cut the console off immediately, thinking it might be a glitch that comes and goes, but a few minutes later the problem got even worse (I know this is a ridiculous way of explaining it, but it was like taking a .png image and saving it as a .gif; the color loss was drastic) and I started to see lines pop up all over the screen. At that point, I turned off the console and restarted it, thinking that might fix the problem, at least momentarily. However, I could hear the console start up, and once I powered my wireless controller on, could move up and down as if making a selection - the problem being, I couldn't see anything on screen. I then turned my console off again, and made sure the wires were connected properly (yes, reconnected them, too), but when I turned my console on there was no difference.
So I'd like to know, have any of you had this problem? Have any idea what it could be? How it's fixed? I haven't called customer support yet because frankly, I've heard bad things, and if I could find out the problem without resorting to that I'd be delighted.
I've read the manual and searched for answers here on the internet, but the only thing I came across was one instance on yahoo answers where it was suggested the problem might be the video cable. That certainly sounds right, but since I'm not driving thirty miles to buy a new cable today I thought I'd see what others had to say.
Oh, also, no red rings.
Thanks! (Sorry if this seems like a minor/obvious problem to anyone.)
