This is a bad MK movie, and its only saving grace is the amazing fights and visuals.

Cole and his family took up to much of the films focus, taking away screen time for characters we actually care about, it really changed the movie to mortal kombat: Cole's origin. as a consequence of this, many of the fights in the final act were criminally short, and those that did involve Cole were not improved by his presence. Cole vs Goro's outcome did not feel deserved, leading to my next complaint.

The mark hijacked most of the movies' story. they tried to rationalize how characters have special powers, this actually restricted the plot direction and further sucked up valuable film time, like the training sessions. For example Sonya had to fight Kano, not only because they are rivals but because she needed his mark in order to get powers and be accepted by the group (without the mark, she was a liability, according to Raiden) and to be allowed to participate in the tournament. The mark is like phantom menace and midichlorians giving jedi their powers.

I really hope this gets a sequel so that we can have more MK movies or series, they just need to retcon the mark and make Cole more interesting yet not the central focus.

I'm only a minute in the video and I cant stand how distracting that subtle music is in the background, in particular a buzzing techno sound. by itself it would have been fine, but not with commentary.

I dislike going to movie theatres, people being annoying or rude and missing parts of the movie if you need to use the restroom. And the crowds, If I ever went to a theatre it was for that must see movie of the year, but I'd go a week later to avoid a packed theatre. I will miss the crowd cheering when appropriate and the feeling of being witness to an premier special event (like watching the star wars movies and people tossing beach balls throughout the room before the movie stated). For others that still need that, it will be back. But having the choice of where we watch movies is an important step forward for moviegoers.

So warner bros decision seems like a natural progression especially given the state of the world right now. I'd rather spend $20 to watch a new movie day one from the comfort of my home or in this case subscribe to hbomax. It is awesome to have a drink, pause when I need to and watch the movie in a relaxed familiar atmosphere of my choice. The only current down side is the roku deal has not finalized yet.

I was considering getting the LG cx OLED, but based on my research it actually doesnt have full HDMI 2.1 support at 48Gbps 12 bit 4K 120hz, it only has partial support of 40 Gbps and 10 bit 4K 120hz. I'm not expert on this so I wont make false claims but Im waiting to see if this will be an issue or not.

Crossing my fingers hoping this means it will be available digitally sooner than originally planned.

Looks good, I'm definitely in the 1440p need to finally reach my monitors 144hz crowd (currently on a GTX 1080), so this is an easy buy.

Thats very impressive. Assuming the same efficiency can be achieved for the ps5 and they operate 24/7 (with rotating human shifts), they could output 2,880 a day or 20,160 a week in which case they should be able to amass a large stockpile and meet demand by launch.
