@pillarrocks: If you want a comedic actor to play a muscular hero for an action film, why wouldn't you just hire Terry Crews instead?! For that alone, this deserves to tank.
@rizenstrom: Been in the can the last two years and not even so much as a TEASER trailer, never mind a full one. How good could it be?
I will say this--Jamie Lee Curtis probably went all out for the role, even if the rest of the movie sucks. Lionsgate is gonna work the fact she won an Oscar into the promos for this when/if it comes out.
@hardwenzen: Kinda hard to get a PG rating when the main character is a bear skee'd up on blow. There's no way this movie was getting anything less than a R rating.
@angrycreep: they don't have the rights to Jason, period. The screenwriter owns that original script, but he also owns the US rights, while the producer owns the image of Jason. It's a whole thing where a new movie won't be made anytime soon. To avoid the legal headache, they probably scratched the whole Jason angle altogether.
@tsunami2311: Doubt it--apparently, according to the article published by Deadline, the network's demo skewers WAY older than their 18-30 demographic...58 years old is the average CW viewer. The plan is to load up on syndicated shows. I'm guessing that CWs lineup will be phased out as some point.
Surprised there is no mention that the follow-up is going to take place in the old firehouse in NYC, (per Variety) or that the release date is going to be two days before the next scheduled Star Wars movie releases in theaters.
