Say you've recently bought a new game that you thought you'd like, but you've started playing and you're not enjoying it that much, whether because of lackluster/frustrating gameplay or dragging story or what-have-you: how long do you give it before throwing in the towel? Or are you determined to finish any game you start, no matter how awful? Discuss.

I did my share of restarting. :P A fair amount of chapters I got through the first time without losing any characters, and after beating the final chapter I think if I'd played the game on Normal difficulty it would've been too easy. I find Hard is challenging but not in the "frustrating" zone. Lunatic, on the other hand, so far seems to be sitting dangerously on the fence between "very challenging" and "frustrating"... I dread seeing what Lunatic+ is like.

Not too surprising to me; I bought a 3DS with the sole purpose of being able to play this game. :P In case you're wondering, I hardly qualify as a diehard fan as I've only played two other games in the series to date and completely passed over Shadow Dragon, but something about the presentation of this game really caught my eye and led me to preorder. No regrets; what a fantastic game!

So far both ability and personality wise my favorites are Lon'qu, Gaius, Virion, Libra, and Henry. I just got Owain on my team and I have a feeling he may become another favorite of mine... (Myrmidons/thieves never seem to fail me...)

The fact that it's "1.5" is a bit annoying to me, because 1 & 2 are the ones I'm really interested in- don't particularly care about the handheld games (I have 358/2 Days for DS already actually) and I've been debating getting a PS2 since the PS2 versions are still available- if there's an HD collection, though, may as well save some space and stick with my PS3. This collection makes me feel stuck in the middle, though. :P

Hey guys, I've got two games I'm interested in playing which are both the same price: Chrono Cross and Persona 3. Which should I play first and which should I leave until later? Chrono Cross got my attention because the music is awesome, and Persona because it looks like a bit of a unique experience with the RPG/Dating sim hybrid- although I have played another Shin Megami Tensei game (Devil Survivor) and found it a bit boring, so if they're very similar I might pass. Which would you recommend?

I thought XIII-2 was better than XIII, but XIII does introduce you to the world so I'm not sure if it might be confusing starting with XIII-2. You can probably get the gist of it by reading up a bit on XIII first, though.

Those are the only FF games I've completed to date (unless you count Crystal Bearers for Wii), but I'm 20 hours into FFVII right now. Actually enjoying it more than the recent titles, much more satisfying gameplay and story.

As they were announcing all the social features, I was thinking, "Don't a lot of people play games as a relief from social interaction?" Haha. Could be interesting though, I'll see how others find it...

Hah, yeah. Since this time last month I've bought 2 PS3 games, 2 PSX games over PSN and two DS games. The worst bit is most of those are RPGs so there's probably upwards of 150 hours worth of gameplay there, and I have 7 other games I've started but haven't finished. Needless to say I don't think I'll be buying anymore games for awhile...

It does often seem to be the case, though I'm playing both FF7 and Ni No Kuni right now, and FF7 is definitely the easier of the two (when it comes to battles, anyway). :P
