I kind of find the words " For us By us" to be the case for this remaster. Its not really made for the new generation but they can play it. To enjoy it however, that's up to them. And for the old schoolers(like me) don't worry about the review it's just an opinion be the judge yourself I like the game not just because of the nostalgia but because its cool to play a game in which you don't have unlimited lives/continues. Hell If you think this is hard you better not hope for a maximum carnage remake.
Meh still gonna buy it I find it more for me anyway since I grew up watching the cartoon. Also its his opinion, whether he likes it or not doesn't stop me from trying it out. It just gives me a heads up on what to look out for.
All I can say is try it out for yourself this reminds me of when super mario rpg came out I had friends who hated it because it wasn't like the others but I(and many others) loved it. Also the game was supposed to be remastered not reinvented. I guess if I buy a Metallica remastered album I should be looking for a new riff in Master of Puppets.
What I don't understand is why Tom didn't mention that the game has multiple difficulty levels and even an extreme mode that gives the original a run for its money(it was mentioned in Screw Attacks review). Also what was with the whole not liking the cane pogo on the spikes thing you were able to do that in the NES version as well.
