@SecretPolice: It’s more walking sim than Death Stranding? That game makes you balance while walking ffs. Like other walking sims weren’t “sim” enough for Kojima... Dude made the Gran Turismo of walking sims

Folks, they clearly didn’t have the right Xbox tools. I know all we heard about pre-launch was how easy the Xbox Series X/S was so simple to develop for and the settings could easily scale just like on PC... But forget all that. Now that Xbox isn’t living up to the massive amounts of hype, the boxes are suuuuper difficult to develop for, devs didn’t get the dev kits in time, and maybe in the future, when the tools mature, we will see the hyped performance!
I’m almost convinced the issue is the slow GPU CU’s. No RDNA chip is clocked nearly that slow. And the PS5’s 400MHz advantage might be the reason for the performance comparisons turning out the way they have.
@davillain- “ What kind of a BS statement is this? I been playing games for decades and never felt this way.”
Have you ever played a Naughty Dog game? Those feel like they are actively taking control from me and wasting my time. I tried that most recent Tomb Raider game that’s on Game Pass. That game started with cutscene after cutscene and once I had control, it was slowly walking around some festival listening to NPCs talk. Gears and GoW LOVE to stop the action in favor of cutscenes and QTEs. And don’t get me started on Kojima games.
I want to play games, not semi-actively interact with a B-tier animated movie. That’s what many AAA games have become. Here’s an experiment for you. Point a camera at your hands/controller and play a 8bit-32bit era game. Then record your hands playing a AAA game from the last couple generations. There’s a reason those guys were able to play Uncharted 4 with 1 hand. We aren’t really “playing” much of anything these days. It’s just the XP numbers, trophies/achievements popping and EPIC moments that make you think you are.
@Litchie: Well when vegetables give me free Xbox games maybe I’ll consider them
@SecretPolice: Your stance is totally acceptable in the real world. But this is system wars. In here, being 1st, 2nd and 3rd matters. And the group that’s been in 3rd for the last decade saying, “who cares about sales or placement” is disingenuous. Especially because it’s the same group that hypes spec superiority since the Scorpio was announced.
The PS5 isn’t a great showcase for raytracing. Neither new console handles it well. The RTX 2000 series and beyond all do it better. I wouldn’t be surprised if the consoles kinda abandon it in the near future. Ray tracing and 120fps on the consoles will be an afterthought in a couple years. Hell, native 4K is less of a bullet point than it was when the Xbox One X launched in 2017. These are things the consoles won’t do well. Not at their price point.
@SecretPolice: I know you’re joking, but there a point to be made here. When does “consumer friendly” turn into more sales, higher revenue and increased market share? Because the more “consumer friendly” Xbox gets, the further in 3rd place they go. It’s almost like video game consumers only care about new quality games while ignoring all that other fluff.
@i_p_daily: For the 1038576th time, I don't “shit on” the Xbox specs. It’s the Lems that misrepresent the specs or overhype them to the moon and back. I did the same thing to Cows before the PS4 launched. Back then I was called a Lem and now I’m grouped with the Cows.
The thought TW3 was crazy overrated, so I’m not expecting Cyberpunk to be some slam dunk, sure thing. I think the setting looks amazing. The combat, shooting and hand-to-hand looks bad though. I let those Deus Ex games from the 360 games get me overhyped and disappointed, so I’m being careful this time around.
If the game is bad, I’ll just play the bajillion other games I need to play/finish.
