I pre-ordered GTA V a while back, the special edition one complete with being able to fly the blimp. The game had a few issues but was a great game altogether. Then after a while of progressing in the game, the game would lock up on me. Then I noticed it would lock up on me at the exact same spot no matter what I did. So I went to the Rockstar forums to look for help. They said: "Wash the disc", "Check for scratches"...blah blah blah....and wait for a patch to fix it. So I waited for patches, updated and still have the same results. Actually the first few patches made it even worse. So after a while of being unsuccessful in trying to fix the game on my own I submitted a support ticket to Rockstar directly, this is the entire chain, start at the bottom. Also keep in mind I payed $60 USD for this game:

Godlikemouse,

I apologize. I talked to my manager, we cannot waive the fee. If you would have written in earlier than March, we may have been able to waive the fee but, since you waited until March we cannot waive it.

Best Regards,

Michael S.

I don't mind returning the disc for a replacement however, paying $20

dollars for an item I pre-ordered far in advance to help support your

company is absurd. When I first ran into the problem and checked online

they said to wait for the patches to come out. So I did, they fixed

some issues and broke others until I reached a point in the game where

it was completely unplayable. By that time of course it was outside the

warranty, I gave your company the benefit of the doubt. I have played

every one of your titles to date (including some of flops) and have been

an avid supporter of your company. The disc, case and all contents are

in pristine condition. Is there any way you can wave this "admin" fee?

If not, then this for certain will be the last Rockstar game I buy and

you will loose me as a supporter and as an advocate for your games.

Godlikemouse, Apr 18 05:52 PM:

The problem appears to be the disc. It happens at the same place

regardless of console. The console itself seems to work perfectly

playing through other games. Is there any chance you could provide me

with a free download of the same game or can I send you the game back

and get another one in its place?

Godlikemouse, Mar 09 04:40 PM:

Dear sirs:

I pre-ordered GTA V for PS3 quite a while back and began playing through the game until I reached a spot in the game where the game continually failed. I've waited for updates to fix the issue however so far no updates have fixed it. I've tried everything I can think of including uninstalling the game, reformatting the hard drive, removing patches, cleaning the disc, etc. So far nothing has resolved the issue. The game continually hangs at the exact same spot: Flying the chopper with Trevor to tail the vans. The textures don't seem to load correctly immediately before it shows Trevor urinating on the wall, then later when flying the chopper the LOD textures don't load leaving blurry textures until a few seconds later when it completely locks up the game. I love this game and I would like to continue playing it. Is there anything you can do to help remedy this situation? I've verified that it is not the console, all the other games play just fine and I've played through others with no issues what so ever. Thanks.

Best regards,

Jason Graves

So be weary of these guys when buying their games. There has been a bad run of discs and they are not willing to fix them without charging you more money on top of what you've already paid. Just saddens me that a once cool company now successful has adopted unhealthy big business attitudes.

Intel currently has the upper hand with regard to speed and memory speed access. Check out the I7 architecture for more information. AMD is more for budget gaming and in my opinion has fallen behind the curve a bit.

I've noticed that none of the recent PS3 games I've been playing have been reflected at all, only the old ones. I've also noticed that under the XBox 360 platform, the games show up, but none of the actual achievements appear to be working. It also appears that none of my Steam achievements have been imported.

Where is the seizure-inducing lens flare, video and text perversions of the lowest breed, and Doritos/Mountain Dew/Steelseries advertising?

This sh*ts embarrassing. I'm kidding btw:P.

Hey everyone, I've made a gampelay montage using in game footage fromThe Chronicles of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena and put it up against the song Get Up by Korn featuring Skrillex.

That's good question. I think most people will agree games that follow traditional attribute and levelling along the lines of D&D are considered true RPG. But I'd go as far as saying even games that mask it for the most part are true RPGs as well. Games like Elder Scrolls, etc. Of course that's just my opinion.

I usually don't get into these type of debates, being that hardware and software are what I do for a living. However, I also would hate for you to continue on this path not realizing that your information is quite a bit outdated. So I'll give you the full details and you can look them up yourself.

Check out the Alienware 18x, customize it and you'll see an option for:

1.5TB SSD RAID 0 (3x 512GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD)

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?oc=dkdwly1&model_id=alienware-m18x-r2&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19

And yes, loading of games and applications in general load from the hard drive (that's where long term persistence takes place) however, most modern game engines will take advantage of any and all available RAM. Using it to load textures, models, level geometry, etc if it's available. For more information on this check out the Valve Source engine (free download) or UDK (Unreal Engine) and read through the docs a bit. You can also install a memory profiler and try launching a game to get a better idea of what's going on. No hard feelings, just trying to help.

I'm not sure where you guys are getting your information, but the I7 intel chipset removes the frontside bus which is where you'll see those slowdown issues with more RAM. I run my games fullscreen at 1920x1080 and I've never seen the framerate drop below 60FPS, I have however seen the framerate as high as 2500FPS on occasion. The more RAM your machine has (depending on motherboard architecture and CPU), the better your system and programs normally will perform. My loading screens are a blink mainly due to the fact that I have so much memory available for the applications to use, it alleviates the need for going to disc for readily cachable textures, models, etc. secondly due to the SSD raid and CPU. Have a look at the I7 architecture, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Hmmm....Nitrous and an electric engine. All that will do is make bystanders laugh as you drive past them.
