I went to playing Heroes V again after playing Heroes VI for a few hours.
- In heroes V, you have that camera orbiting a 3d rendition of your town. I was playing the Necropolis campaign and the artistry is just awesome. In Heroes VI, you only get a mini screen of your town similar to watching youtube. You also have no idea of what you're building looks like as individual structure sare not rendered in the mini screen. They've recently released a patch which would enable 2d townscreens, similar to what we've had in HOMM3. But I think this is a step back from V.
- In heroes V, you get a look at the 3d model of the unit before you purchase it. In VI, you get to only look at its portrait.
- In heroes V, you can rotate the camera using the right mouse button. In Heroes VI, you can use CTRL + Arrow keys to rotate the camera, but the camera snaps back to its original position after you release the arrow keys.
I like both games but in my opinion, I think Heroes V is a more superior product than VI.
