Yeah I would say Ryse is graphics king, slightly over Killzone 4 and over any PC game I can max out...but dont tell them, that they will have a coronary

Seriously apart from one or two streets on los santos with lots of palm trees on it this game absolutely purrs along, the lighting is gorgeous and attention to detail insane , there are no in-game loading times and hardly any pop up all with this with an extermely stable framrate. The only gripe I would say are jaggies but this is a minor complaint. it blows my mind that this is on hardware older than my 7 and a half year old cousin, a great love letter to both the Xbox 360 and PS3
What d'ya reckon?

Back in the day, Crytek made some really cool games such as Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis Warhead. But things started going downhill with Crysis 2. It was nowhere near their earlier work, but still moderately enjoyable. Then, Crytek hit a new low with Crysis 3. The game was so dull and boring, that it would be better used for inducing sleep in insomniacs, than for entertainment. It was actually more of a technology showcase, and less of a game. Crytek seem to be hell bent on pushing the graphics to their limit (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but in this process, they seem to have totally lost the ability to develop enjoyable games. I have no faith left in Crytek anymore. People are saying Ryse: Son of Rome looks promising, but I won't talk about it now because its an XBox exclusive, and I'm a PC-only gamer. Still, I certainly feel that although Crytek designs stunning game engines, their days as a game developer should come to an end soon. Since they are so interested in ONLY graphics, they should concentrate on developing cutting edge game engines, and just outsource game development to some other studio. So, what do you people feel regarding this?

Crytk are a tech company first and foremost, Far Cry and Crysis were great interactive benchmarks for your rigs but the plots, and characters were bone headed to the extreme and there was no real game design. As a game developer crytek are average I think people need to take their nostalgic glasses off becasue Far Cry 1 and Crysis wouldnt make my top 30 games of all time

And it's amazing what a quality game it is.
Most games I've played since then can't touch it...
Anyone agree?

HL is real art, something that most devs/publishers don't really care about. There are very few games that come close in terms of having such coherent artistic expression, I can only think of Max Payne 1 and 2, perhaps NOLF 2, Fallout 3 and... Well I guess that's it.
edit: yes, also there's Portal 2.
The Last Of Us does
19 hr 50, on hard with lots of looking around
you d need a hell of a PC to run it though, graphics look amazing
Certainly would, but haven't bought a PS3 so far and don't plan on doing so especially for just one game. I hope it does really so other developers try similar ideas and bring it to the PC.
