ghost, let me put this in a way that you can understand it:

what would the iphone be like if you took out touch screen capability? thats about the same effect as if you took away the 2nd screen on the ds. there is a reason why multiple monitor setups are coveted...

lazzordude
LOL they could have a one touch screen and lol at MPH being unplayable with one screen when Metroid Prime uses one

[QUOTE="ghost392"] and standards if anything are based of hardware >WAIW
I've proved this straw man theory wrong before, Ghost. If the iGadgets have higher standards, then why is Peggle one of the best games on iPhone but Peggle and Peggle Nights combined can't even make it into the top 100 list for the DS?

Well it works better on the Ipod Touch/Iphone if you would read the review as it talks of the zoom features I personally havent played it but good job picking out one AAA from the many

Nintendogs is in the top five DS games and top 4 for exclusives

Btw FAST, Real Racing and Rolando are 9.5

Why do you not compare Real Racing to Mario Kart DS (best exclusive for DS with a 9.2 )

[QUOTE="charizard1605"]Considering that the DS's best games use both screens liberally- see The Legend of Zelda games, Pokemon HG/SS, Advance Wars, GTA: Chinatown Wars, Metroid Prime Hunters, The World Ends With You for more.fabz_95

Worked fine on one screen and pokemon zelda , advanced wars and MPH would work just fine as well

TWEY could be edited and given similar gameplay maybe have a dash in the middle of screen and see the two fight and imo this would be even better as you dont have to look up look down etc.

Metroid Prime Hunters? What? How would it work with 1 screen? Would you want the screen you use to aim your gun to be the same screen in which you view the game? Your view would be totally obscured.

They could include a control stick like they are doing with the 3DS because Stylus is the worst type of controls for FPS I have played. All would work and If they added a map to a 360 controller that drained the batteries quicker and took away features that could be there like the guide button people would not like that

The use of maps and stats are fine in menues and the cost of a second LCD is really worth the seconds saved for pausing???

So many posts I cant respond to all but I can respond to general points

125million sold does not make it the best handheld it makes it the best selling to the person who said 125mil sold

Also if the Ipod Touch's best games are rated high because they are relative to the shovelware wouldnt that make pps the best library because it have the least shovelware XD... give me a break a good game is a good game and standards if anything are based of hardware and the Ipod Touch has proven to have quality 3D(perhaps best of the three handhelds) the only limiting factor is the size which is also present in the DS but I would rather have smaller size than a loud disc drive

I do not see how Ipod Touch games are held to a lower standard then DS games considering they have stronger visuals and the 3D games are as long if not longer then DS games that are 3D as well as being cheaper.

No I dont not want a loud spinning machine... Do not put words in my mouth if the DS used those disks I would literally break mine on purpose with a hammer

sam_nintendo

We aren't talking about the media format, but if you want I'll be more specific. OK, you want a PSPtouch that doesn't use UMD. Happy?

No thanks I do not care really for Sony systems and the only games I have liked on Ps2 is SOTC and GOW

[QUOTE="BattleTurtles"] I'm pretty sure if you don't hold the DS 3 inches away from your face you can see both screens at the same time.jimkabrhel

WOW I am not saying you cant see both screens... Im saying that their is a massive gap between the two and that as well as the hingcracks are a problem in two screens

You cant deny the two screens is a gimmick because its called the Nintendo DS and was referred to as the 3rd pillar until it sold well of course

No, it's a design focus, not a gimmick. Clearly Nintendo wanted the touchpad/stylus as a part of their handheld, and incorporated it beautifully. If it was a gimmick, sales wouldn't still be strong.

Touch wasnt a gimmick but two screens was hence the name of the system and most games not using it in a meaningful way

[QUOTE="Digital_Ghost"]

I really do wish capcom would bring back the original play style, none of that over the shoulder crap. I'm talking about how RE:1, 2 and 3 were, I wish they would bring back segemnts of underground lab areas, such as in 1 and 2 thats what made the games interesting in my view. I don't understand why capcom didn't do remakes of the second and third game those would have been good.

millerlight89

Digital Ghost you are my hero man. I have been wanting this for so long. As for over the shoulder I do not mind, but does that mean they have to take away the scar factor. Unfortunatley the likely hood of this happening is slim. Too many casual game lovers out there.

Lol RE4 and 5 are far less casual then the prequels that could be finished in a couple hours

[QUOTE="ghost392"]

[QUOTE="sam_nintendo"] So then it's basically two screens again.sam_nintendo

No it simulates two because most games do not benefit from two screens and would do better with one for one secondly the battery gain and expense loss from the 2nd lcd could be turn to normal DSL standards by making the 1 lcd bigger and loosing the hingecrack from clamshell design The touch screen would still be their as would the stylus but more portability better graphics etc.

Do you try to say as many wrong things as you can in one post?

If we were to use this virtual double screen the one screen would have to be as big as the two DS screens combined. That negates the "battery gain" you talked about.

You would still be rendering two screens, so there would be no graphical jump.

If Nintendo went with a single screen solution they would not have included a second processor, which was only included on the DS because of the second screen. So actually the two virtual screens would result in a graphical drop.

If the clamshell design is so inferior then why did Nintendo use it on the SP? I love the clamshell, it keeps my screens safe and sound.

Clamshell hurts durrability of the system assuming you do not drop the non clamshell abunch...

Get a screen protector as they are cheap

Not because they could include a stronger singular proccessor as the two proccessors dont add up they seperate functions etc.

And it would not be as big as both them combined as the games arent being ported maybe DSXl a lil bit bigger and it would look fine
