I hate it when one news company gets the scoop then all the others copy it. E.g. the BBC shows what's appearing on the upcoming newspapers as part of their news.
Won't be buying games on the "never never". Why not just put a pound coin slot on the console and turn it into an arcade machine - the very thing I was try to avoid by buying a console in the first place?
I'm a console owner who would love to see Arma on consoles. I don't like the linear gameplay, cinematic, run-n-gun, bunny hopping mp part of console games. But I do like being able to put a disk in the console and play it without having to check specs, select optimal performance options and having to pay for expensive hardware upgrades.
@MadaraSoul Some downloaded games can be played offline: Minecraft and Birds of Steel work ok. However, I had to be signed in the play the indie game Odyssey 3011 (excellent Elite clone). I'm pretty sure I could play it online with the free subs though, and as I had to be online to buy the digital copy anyway, that's no so bad.
Having said this, I've heard the PS3 game updates are terribly slow compared to Xbox. I will be looking at costs incurred by the (Xbox's) console unreliablilty and online playing prices amongt other things (don't like PS3 controllers and apparently party system is crap) before selecting which next-gen console to purchase.
