FYI most jobs can't be done from home

That doesn't change the fact that there are other jobs that can be done from home. Taking all those unnecessary trips out of public roads will benefit everyone who still has to commute to work.

While I'm happy that the infrastructure bill passed, I can't ignore the fact that he and his party rolled over and couldn't pull through with raising the minimum wage or forgiving student debt. I value progress over compromise and Biden hasn't excelled much in either category. Not too optimistic about the next three years but I'm open to being proven wrong.

@goldenelementxl: Even if the intent was to engage with your friends to trade this for that, I think later features such as online trading via the GTS have made this point obsolete. The first three gens get a pass, but anything beyond that is just refusing to break away from an old tradition.

I find the Tobey Spidey memes to be more memorable than his Spidey movies. My vote went to the guy with the frog in his mouth.

I was a bored kid using the family's computer to look up guides for games I owned. Stuck around for the DS/Wii forums since it was a good way to meet new people to play online with. It was also interesting to lurk and read the Off-Topic posts.

I wouldn't say "nobody likes Facebook" otherwise why are there still so many active users? :P

When I was younger, social media sites like MySpace and Facebook were appealing to me since they were an easy way to connect with friends in a time where access to a computer was more realistic for me than access to a smartphone. As I got older, I found myself using social media less and less as friend groups moved over to simply using apps (e.g. WhatsApp or Telegram) to communicate. Didn't take long for me to leave social media behind shortly after that. I have no intention of returning since I just don't see the point.

On the other hand, I can understand that social media sites like FB allow users to communicate with groups of people from around the world with similar interests whether it is similar occupations or shared hobbies. I don't believe it would be fair to outright eliminate FB entirely simply because I don't like it or because it doesn't serve any meaningful purpose to me.

With that being said, sites could take the approach Gamespot did and separate political content into a separate area or with a filter. From what I remember, I think users on FB can join political groups for discussions, but FB can take it one step further and limit political discussion within these groups. Alternatively, users could choose to allow or deny political content into their feed.

I honestly thought op was joking.

why would I be joking about this? Using covid laws to screw land lords out of rent money. Lets be honest, the average land lord isn't like president trump, they're just getting by and using their properties to fund their retirement. There are stories of land lords being bilked tens of thousands of dollars, more stories of people not applying for the rental help, or keeping the rental help for themselves . But I guess thats communism for you, as long as its someone elses money, then everything is fine. Also I can understand that people are having a hard time during covid, but that should never be the problem of the land lord. As a tenant, the first priority should be coming to an agreement with the landlord, negotiating something both parties can agree on. But lots of tenants are turning into thieves taking advantage of the covid lawns and being protected by the government no less.

Risky investments are risky. As with any investment, being a landlord comes with risks, and anyone who isn't prepared for risks should not consider renting out a property. You're right; the average landlord isn't living it up with money bags galore but that's all the more reason why they shouldn't rely primarily on renting properties as their main bread and butter. A quick anecdote: my parents have been renting out their first home for almost 20 years now but there's a reason why they didn't immediately retire from their 9-5 jobs; tenants can be unpredictable and sometimes more trouble than the money they provide per month is worth (if they provide it at all).

@JimB: Lol what? Are you really reading (3,066,457) (383,307) as (3,066,457,383,307) ?

You posted a number in excess of three trillion.

Yes. It's the only way I figured you were reading the number in such a way where that specific number wouldn't "add up no matter how you spin [it]."

But if that's not the case, then I'd be curious as to why the actual numbers (3,066,457) (383,307) don't add up in your eyes.
