It's not super clear from the article if removing the shows means cancelling them or simply selling them to another content creator. I can't imagine they'd just remove them with no way to watch them anywhere else.
The problem with each dev or publisher doing their own videos throughout the year is that it really only reaches hardcore fans of those companies. I think we need a big event like E3 to get gamers interested in new things. I'm not a big fan of JRPGs, for example, but I always looked into them when I saw their E3 booths and demos. There is definitely a place for E3, it just needs to modernize.
I understand these lists are based on editors' opinions, but I feel like the Nathan Drake collection was a big enough release to warrant an honorable mention or explanation for why it was excluded. This list feels lazily prepared.
The scariest part of this video was watching this guy spend a freaking hour figuring the puzzles out! Good. Lord. Man. Words cannot express the frustration I felt watching you play this! Despite that, the game looks absolutely incredible.
The show definitely needs a format change, however I don't foresee it ever dying. Its competitive advantage is that it's still the premier gaming convention for the western hemisphere and it gives the industry it's well-deserved, annual week in the spotlight.
One change I would argue for now though is to open the show to the public. We need a North American version of Gamescom and e3 is in the best position to fill that role (though other cons like PAX and Blizzcon are showing their worth too).
Gotta be honest here...some of these screenshots are horrible. Only like 2 or 3 of them actually show some significant comparison between the 2 games. I'm pretty sure playing the games side by side shows more, but as for this feature, kind of lame.
