i play an mmo now just to waste time, hang out with friends, compete in pvp and meet with new players. and play new things when they are released.
im sucked in but for a short time like an hour at most and most of the time i have full control over my time.
when i played wow i was sucked in for a long time but after i went everywhere i wanted, explored, understood the game, then it wasnt long after that when i got bored and stopped playing.
idk about addiction and stuff but i played as long as it was fun and once it was boring it was over for me.
the way I see it, ps3 is worst. xbox360 is a little better. ps4 is a big improvement over ps3. and amazingly pc is slightly better than ps4. the newer consoles, ps4 and xbone, have pc like characteristics and specs but the hardware is already out of date to current pcs. the consoles had the specs at the begining of the year and even now we see that the fast improvements of pcs are noticeable.
on a side note, the game looks fun and graphics wont make much of difference for your experience.
the fps needed for smooth gameplay varies with games. I played crysis with ~30 fps and had absolutely no problems. everything felt very smooth and enjoyable. crysis 2 on the other hand feels unplayable with 30 fps so I played it at ~60 so it feels smooth and responsive. and with all the other games, its the same. its based on how the game is made. dead space 1,2,3 always run at constant 43, 30, 30 fps on highest settings. and never felt bad. one other big factor is fps stability. dead space had absolutely constant fps. nothing could budge it. other games that ive played with fps flickering quickly between 40-80 make the game unplayable. constant 60fps should be the best middle point to take.
i didn't have any screen tearing. but overall I don't like the game as much as the first. you cant interact with objects freely. you always walk in a tight alleys/corridors. the story isn't the best and monsters in the whole game were just in a couple of levels. overall its much worse than the first game. but the atmosphere is good and the experience after all is good. id give it 7.5 or even 7. will decide later. the music was great and the ambient sounds, even though a bit too load were also great. make the atmosphere good.
doesn't look much different from coh. that's great for coh fans but im not much into coh overall. I love dow and I really want dow3 to be like dow1. I hope relic makes dow3 after coh2
