I searched every nook and cranny of this game expecting something to jump out at me the entire time because it tries to make you think it's a scary game, just for it never to happen and the story just be about a girl running off with her girlfriend..... this game really upset me. Wasted my time.
As I've said for a year now, the Wii U is, and has been, more valuable than the XB1 and PS4 because of the amazing exclusives, but also because I believe Nintendo games are finally starting to feel like their focus is now on catering to real gamers.
I don't think graphics are an issue (as in the back on our minds as it was) anymore because Nintendo has been consistently using the cartoony, Wind Waker look that doesn't pose as attempting to look realistic. I remember back when Wind Waker came out I was 12 and thought the graphics were 'childish' looking, but when I played it I had the epiphany that graphics aren't always about trying to look like our 'real' world, but rather more about looking polished and crisp in the game's reality. I think Nintendo, all-around, has accepted that method of thinking rather than doing what the 64 did and most of the Gamecube games.
@MustSeeMelons Geralt has always reminded me of Beowulf, the first epic ever written. It's old-school style fantasy, and I prefer it over random "chosen one" nonsense like in Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, and most other action RPGs. The entire series just has a more epic feel to it.. like there's never any "lightening the mood" moments; if you follow.
Amazing review. That was a brilliant description in the first few paragraphs. I've been searching for the right words when defending why I love Dynasty Warriors and why it stands apart from other hack n' slash games.. and now I have them. Good show man!
