Christmas List

Well, I finally got myself a PS2, and have gotten my hands on 5 games: Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Mercenaries. My entire Christmas list looks like this:

Rock Band, Chrono Trigger DS, Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Fallout 3, and the Orange Box.

I probably won't get all of them, but my musthaves are Rock Band 2, The Orange Box, Devil May Cry, Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear Solid.

Top 25 Games (14-1)

14. Rock Band- I love this game. It's a great way to have some fun pretending you're a rock star with your friends.

13. Soul Caliber II- This is an amazing fighting game, in which experts can master their characters, but newcomers can also play well, too.

12. Elite Beat Agents- This game is really fun, and hilarious. The Elite Beat Agents dance to solve people's problems, and you tap along with the beat.

11. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow:- This is the only Castlevania game I have ever played, but I enjoyed it immensely. It's really amazing and horrific, in a good way.

10. Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga- This is one of my favorite all-time RPGs, and it is amazing, and funny.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess- My favorite Legend of Zelda game of all time, it's filled with awesomeness and really good gameplay.

8. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones- The 8th Fire Emblem game is also the 8th game on my list. Although the actual main story is short, its got the greatest replay value of them all.

7. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn- Although the story isn't that good, the gameplay is varied and fun, and also fiendishly difficult.

6. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance- The prequel to Radiant Dawn, it was the first 3D Fire Emblem, and for the most part translated the series into 3D rather well.

5. The World Ends With You- This is the most original RPGs I've ever played; its got amazing gameplay, music, and a truly riveting story.

4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic- An amazing RPG for the PC, it combines RPGs with the universe of Star Wars rather well.

3. Fire Emblem- My favorite Fire Emblem, and an amazing game, great anime graphics, just...amazing...

2. Tales of Symphonia- My favorite RPG of all time: it's got great gameplay, great graphics, and even though the story is a little cliche, the characters are great enough and well voiced enough that you are still immersed in the world and in the game.

1. Super Smash Brothers Brawl- My pick for the greatest video game of all time. Just plain fun with all your friends, great characters, great stages, amazing music, it's just phenomenal.

Top 25 Games of All Time (25-15)

25. Yoshi's Island- One of the first games I actually played, it is still a fun platforming game with a lot of charm. A big-nosed dinos.

24. Call of Duty 4- I don't actually own this game, but from what I've played of it, it's a blast and an awesome shooter that strays away from the typical WWII.

23. Animal Crossing: Wild World- To this day I still play this game. It's a lot of fun creating your own virtual life and interacting with friends.

22. Super Paper Mario- I loved the quirky humor and awesome dimension bending of this game. It's a blast!

21. New Super Mario Brothers- Brings back fond memories of Super Mario Brothers, but with better graphics and gameplay.

20. Final Fantasy IV- A good, simple, and yet great RPG. Cecil is just awesome.

19. Final Fantasy VI- A great, and original RPG. Since I'm a younger gamer (15), I was born before the great SNES RPG phase, and only played this game through a rent on the GBA. I don't own this game, nor have I even gotten too far in it, but I plan on eventually getting it. It's really good.

18. The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker- My first Legend of Zelda that I actually tried to beat, it's really amazing. Just amazing.

17. Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire- Red was my first video game, I loved Gold/Silver/Crystal (I even bought them all..), and I enjoyed Pearl, but this one I spent the most time and effort in, and it was really fun.

16. Pikmin 2- This game is so original, and so fun to play. Sending little creatures to defeat other creatures is just fun.

15. Advance Wars: Dual Strike- As you'll see later on this list, I love Fire Emblem, and for a time, hated Advance Wars. But after playing this installment, I loved it.

Until next time...
