actually artrimus, I work at Wal-Mart and we had a fella return his PS3 on the basis that it refused to start up. Granted it is only one account I've heard, but is evidence that there could be a hardware issue.

I currently own an iMac with an Intel Core 1 Duo Processor and a nice gig of ram. On my Mac, the only issue I have ever had to deal with my college and viewing online lectures. I already have a heap of these features Microsoft toutes for Vista, and I can play good games (I have Civ IV and the not-as-good Elite Force 2). I contest that it is not a platform for "noobs", but is instead a platform for those who are more creative and will get the most out of the iLife suite of software. In the professional sense, some magazines use them, as did those who worked on King Kong's visual effects and the remastering of the original Star Trek. It was also used on Madonna's record setting world tour that ended this year. I also feel that Apple has some very eye-catching hardware. Yes yes, I know that looks don't mean crap to a lot of the experienced users on here, but it means a bit in sales figures. Also, on that thought, regardless of opinion, more people are buying Macs. 50% of those who bought one in a retail store (not just Apple Stores) were new to the Mac. Not to say PCs are not bad, I simply prefer Macs versus PCs with the experience and needs I have.

I can count everything "new" in Vista on one hand. Most of what is mentioned here is already on Mac OS X and has been for two or five years, depending on the feature. The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times' David Pogue, and several other publications have shown this. If you don't believe me, go to apple's Mac OS X Tiger page. http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/ Also, if you are curious, look at the coming features by going to the top and clicking on "Leopard Sneak Peek". And you can still run all of your games on them.
