@Spartan_418: LOL youre a total idiot. Do you have any idea how popular Halo 2 was online? Any idea at all? Basically started online console multiplayer.
@gleencross: Kinda why it feels "indie." Not knocking it... loved Braid and Super Meat Boy is a perfect game IMO, but Braid was the first hit and SMB is the best indie. They stand alone. Hollow Knight is well crafted, beautiful at times... but its not as good or beautiful as SotN or SM. I mean... SM is a blatant underappreciated bonafide masterpiece that basically refined the genre (and gaming as a whole really) the most, and SotN added the insane amount of different items and RPG elements, with one of the best soundtracks ever.
Hollow Knight is good. Not great. SM and SotN were unreal, unmatched experiences when they came out. SotN, is like the definition of replayability. I think it may have something to do with the insane amount of individually animated sprite\effects with each spell, sword attack, special sword attack, familiar interaction, attacks, enemies... Come ON. They SLIDE in HK. The sprite work is not comparable just to start.
@gleencross: I cant even be in this discussion. I adore SM and SotN but the entire way through Hollow Knight felt so...limiting. I Personally I think HK is massively overrated, I dont even like the game.
SM on the other hand is one of the most polished, complete games of all time. It literally feels like the movie Alien.
